I reached out on Twitter and was told that my application would be put on hold because I would need to go for an identity interview and they’re not currently being held.
Is it possible to get your documents back early? I could try to renew my French passport in the meantime.

August 11, 2020 at 11:24 am #2451daisydukesssParticipantHi everyone
Wanted to give some hope that it’s not always the 2 month wait I was dreading.
Adult replacement for a previously lost passport – applied online and didn’t have to send in any documentation:
Passport printed and sent 12:17pm on 11 August 2020
Application approved 3:07pm on 8 August 2020
Application being processed 1:19pm on 23 July 2020
Identity details received 2:46pm on 22 July 2020
Email sent to person confirming your identity 2:30pm on 22 July 2020
Ask someone to confirm your identity 2:27pm on 22 July 2020
Application submitted 2:27pm on 22 July 2020Just under one month total – now waiting for my passport to arrive. Clearly there’s a huge problem as some people take days and some people take 3 months…
I only messaged on Twitter once right at the start and told them my holiday date (end of Sept)
Good luck and hope everybody gets their holidays x

Very happy with my timeline despite the times feeling agonising (Sent old one to Durham, if that makes a difference!) considering I found out on 31/07 my passport was expired and we fly on 24/08! It’s been a tense couple of weeks.
Honestly thought there was no hope, but won’t celebrate until it’s in my hands.
Really hoping it comes Friday so I don’t have to go through another weekend of anxiety!

Submitted end of June
Officially received forms 3 weeks later, entered Processing right awayNo updates since then. I have escalated via Twitter multiple times. Crickets.
I suspect they are not prioritizing foreign applications. Domestic applications are turned around in a week or 2, foreign applications go to the bottom of the pile.
This is a horrible, immensely frustrating experience. I understand it’s slow. But it’s insane that some people are getting them from Durham in 1 week, while others are waiting 1-3 months. First in, first out. It’s not hard to do this fairly.
August 13, 2020 at 2:40 am #2465marriedman40ParticipantApplicants from Hong Kong for BNO generally need to wait for 2.5 to 3 months, but some may be faster for unknown reasons.
August 14, 2020 at 11:07 am #2474roxasgazioParticipantUpdate: received today (14/08). 14 days! Very relieved.

August 17, 2020 at 8:41 pm #2513michaelParticipantNo tracking link provided, just an email which has a paragraph saying:
“What happens next
We’ve sent your new passport by secure delivery. In most cases it will be delivered by TNT delivery services. You can find out more at: https://delivery.tnt.com/tracking”When I click on the link it asks for my postcode, then a consignment number or PAN number. I have neither of those.
