    I put my daughter’s first adult passport application in on the 29th April. Its been at documents received since the 4th May. Currently sitting in Belfast.Friday is 10 weeks. I need it back desperately so I can order medical supplies for the holiday. Got my MP involved but no joy. Can I cancel and do a fast track application? Could I fly to Belfast to get it? I’m willing to do anything at this point!

    If you call in on Friday, you should be eligible for the application to be expedited as it’s over 10 weeks. I would ring 0300 105 0850 at 8am.

    Thanks Holly. I’ll be calling first thing tomorrow. I’m absolutely beyond worried about this. Reading all these posts just emphasises how broken the system is!

    @cerimcc
    The 0300 105 0850 number is now out of service. Try the main no 0300 222 0000, and choose 8 then 3. I applied for my Adult Renewal via Check&Send hard copy on 25/04, and today got confirmation its being printed. I suggest keep hassling your MP, and calling the Advice Line. I also got an update today via this https://www.gov.uk/track-passport-application (second time of doing it). Good luck!

    Sounds like a similar predicament to me. Docs received by them on 4th May. Gone to Belfast office. My 10 weeks is up on the 13th July however due to travelling on the 23rd I will be contacting them on the 9th to start the expediting process.
    In answer to your question you cannot cancel and reapply with a Fast track application (i’ve asked them that question already) plus its on one of the forums on here too.
    I have involved my MP and so far so good. They have told me to email them again if nothing is received by the 9th (pretty sure it wont be !!!).
    Keep us up to date with how you get on and I wish you good luck to getting the passport through in time.

    I’ll be ringing first thing tomorrow and seriously considering turning up at my local passport office to get this finally sorted. I need to order my medical supplies now without which h I can’t go on holiday anyway. I’ll update you all tomorrow.

    Update

    I got my daughter’s passport! I ended up buying a cheap one way flight to Toulouse for Wednesday and then went down to my local passport office (Newport) this morning. We were there about 2 hours before it opened but there were still several people in front including someone who had been told to travel from London to Newport!
    Anyway, we filled out a form and they promised to call back today. An hour or so later, I got a call from Belfast who wanted confirmation of the flight which I emailed. Belfast rang back two hours later to say that the passport was being printed there and then and to come and get it when we wanted. I made my daughter go down there straight away but I didn’t breathe a sigh of relief until it was in my hands.
    They will not print a passport unless you have only 48 until the flight but you don’t have to go to the passport office where the application has been sent.

    Hope this helps people.
