Lauraf1991 – About time! When was it printed and sent out?
Leahmca – my son’s first passport has been in processing for 27 days too, it has been in examination since Friday, so I am hoping I have an update soon.
March 15, 2022 at 10:04 am #9715lauraf1991ParticipantIt was apparently printed and sent last Wednesday. I find it hard to believe it’s taken 6 whole days to get here but there we go!
March 15, 2022 at 10:08 am #9716leahmcaParticipantJespop – you and I are waking up tomorrow to some news (hopefully!)
Laura 1991 – bet you won’t leave the house today! Let us know when it’s in Your hand
I live in NI so I imagine postage will be even more of a nightmare, we seem to get forgotten about over here and delivery always takes 1-2 days longer than the main land
March 15, 2022 at 10:10 am #9719viksnidParticipantMine was printed and sent last Thursday, received no tracking. Hopefully mine comes soon. One person from HMPO said “sometimes you don’t get tracking” what kind of service is that.
March 15, 2022 at 10:40 am #9720amy93ParticipantHope everyone gets some good news! Fingers and toes are crossed!
Mine is still processing but what I do now, is call and ask if it’s been assigned to an examiner yet. So far the answer is no but hoping soon it will be a yes!
Once it’s with an examiner it’s a quicker process (so they say!).
Lauraf1991 – hope it comes asap!
March 15, 2022 at 10:50 am #9722Frustrated_1ParticipantHi Amy. I’m a very similar situation as yourself; awaiting examination since 28 Feb. How can you find out if you’ve been allocated an examiner? I keep getting mix messages from customer service
March 15, 2022 at 10:58 am #9723jmsParticipantPhoned them today with the RM Special Delivery tracking number, and was told that they are not sure why docs haven’t been linked to the application after 12 days and she’ll escalate it (whatever that means).
March 15, 2022 at 11:03 am #9725jespop30ParticipantAnyone know how long an application is in examination for?
March 15, 2022 at 11:12 am #9726amy93Participant@Frustrated_1 – I call this number: 03001231973 (in case it doesn’t let me type it, zero three zero zero one two three one nine seven three) and I say ‘I want to check if my passport has been allocated an examiner’ and give them my PEX number. So far it’s not gone to examination 🙁
Jespop30 – When I asked they said it’s usually with an examiner for a couple of days, and at that point, if they need more info, they’ll ask you for it. It speeds up once it’s with an examiner. I have heard horror stories of course 🙁 x
In my head their system is a whole room full of bags and they do a bloody lucky dip each day!
March 15, 2022 at 11:20 am #9727jespop30ParticipantThat’s the number I always call and they seem to know a bit more than the other number. My son’s went into examination on the 11th March, so hopefully I will hear soon, and fingers crossed they track down my marriage certificate in the office as the lady yesterday took the tracking number and apparently the examiner can request it is found.
The first four passports I have done arrived quickly but this one is taking weeks.March 15, 2022 at 11:27 am #9728bobbythompsParticipantAdult Renewal
Application history:
Documents received 2:12pm on 23 February 2022
Application received 8:05pm on 16 February 2022
Application submitted 8:05pm on 16 February 2022On 3rd March I got an email saying my passport was damaged and that I need to send a signed letter in that explains how the damage occurs at which point my application will be reassessed. There was very minor damage to the passport and I’d used it so many times in this condition I just assumed it would be fine. Anyway, I sent this letter immediately, tracked and it was signed for by the Bootle office at 8:39am on 4th March.
It still hasn’t updated to show that the additional documents have been received on my application. Customer services weren’t much help on trying to get an update.
I need to travel May 12th which I thought was enough time considering the wait time was 3 weeks when I applied. But now I’m starting to worry this might not be enough time. Any advice?
March 15, 2022 at 11:32 am #9730jespop30ParticipantIt’s taking 8 working days to upload documents onto the system, but I have heard that sometimes if they request extra documents it doesn’t always show up that they have recieved them, and that the application can go to approved without acknowledging the extra documents.
March 15, 2022 at 11:54 am #9732bobbythompsParticipantAh okay that would be the ideal scenario – 8 working days would be today so hopefully I receive an update by the end of the week. Does anyone know what stages follow on from the ones I’ve had so far?
March 15, 2022 at 11:57 am #9733jespop30ParticipantIf you are lucky, it will go straight to approved which I think is taking 7-10 days but if you are unlucky like several of us, it will go to application processing and that takes longers. My son’s application is in processing and been for almost 4 weeks but it did go into examination on Friday.
March 15, 2022 at 11:58 am #9734jmsParticipantIt looks like the ‘escalating’ worked – they finally updated my status to ‘Documents received’.
Let’s now see how long will simple renewal (nothing changed) take.
