    Managed to get in contact with the upgrades team on Friday, who took my details and told me to email the peterborough email address with the evidence of travel. Said i would get a call back in 24-48 hours to take payment for the upgrade to fast track. Get to Wednesday and still no phone call so i called them. After ringing 3 times, and the first 2 people said they ‘weren’t allowed to forward me to the upgrades team’ Finally got through to someone who directed me straight away. I was told that the reason my application hasn’t progressed for 6 weeks, was because they didnt have evidence that I cancelled my last passport (even though i did). I asked why No one had bothered to contact me and ask? She said it was only flagged a few days ago. Gave her my old passport number and she confirmed that it was cancelled. – Not sure why i needed to help them confirm that when it’s all on their system. Was told to email the Peterborough Upgrades team again and was told i’ll have a call back to take payment in 24-48 hours.
    How long did everyone else have to wait to pay for their upgrades? Once i’ve paid i’ll feel like the ball is rolling, and a lot less anxious as I fly on the 20th!

    @BeccaL You won’t get the phone call for payment until 24-48 hours before your flight. You have a lot of waiting yet.

    Cutting it so close is absolutely horrific. I imagine you all feel the same. Supposed to be getting married abroad. So much time, effort, and money is going to be lost. Uuuggghhh

    I’ve just had an email back from Newport upgrade team to say they won’t deal with claim cause my application with another office, it’s at Peterborough so waiting to hear back from them now. So I feel emailing other offices is maybe pointless

    Hi everyone i have decided to go oeterborough tomorrow do you think this is a good choice has anyone got anywhere by walking to the office without an appontment ? Please advice

    @hussain my email states that applications will not be approved face to face and not to turn up at office but I have heard other people that been successful so it’s a difficult one

    @ahussain I did read on hear that someone did and they were seen however some were turned away. If you really worried I would go, even if they pass on a message will demonstrate the importance.

    so its seems most people are getting calls 24/48 hours ahead of travel? anyone seen other than this? ive had a call to confirm the upgrade team address and sent this off with required travel docs, (along with several other passport upgrade teams emails!) but mine is for a childs renewal (who is 12) and we also need to get a fit to fly covid test certificate, which we cant book until we have a passport number! we are due to fly next tuesday 17th, so we dont have much time, just hoping people can confirm when they got the call and how quickly they then got them? ie are they processed same day for collection? thanks!

    Hello all. Does anyone know if you have to call to get the upgrade service, or will it work with just an email to the upgrade team when it gets to within 2 weeks of your flight? I’ve seen crazy call wait times with so-so handlers on the other end so cutting that bit out would be dreamy :’) thanks
