    PBC19 can’t you drive to Durham to try to resolve it. Also when did you apply for passport?

    I’m based in London so can’t make the 5hr drive up to Durham with my infant daughter I’m afraid. Wish I’d been told the right office in the first place. So frustrating.

    Sue to fly Monday been on phone to processing team who said I should receive call from upgrade team today, half hour later went on line to track application and states it’s currently being processed but o too am losing hope

    It’s so disheartening as there seems to be no consistency. It’s maddening that relatively straightforward online applications are taking so long and they are being batted around to different offices miles from where people live. Praying all those waiting for imminent travel get their passports in time. I am exhausted and my anxiety is through the roof.

    Hi,
    I finally spoke to someone today after a couple of weeks of not being able to get through. I was informed upgrade isn’t available for first passport applications, does anyone know if this is true. They also told me processing is from when it say processing on the tracking. They had the passport for 6 weeks before it went to this stage so I can’t understand this.

    I forgot to say we are due to fly in just over a week. So a little stressed out!

    @jheh150 is this your first ever passport, my daughters in first adult but she did have a child passport. No one has told me she can’t use the upgrade

    Oh I’m not sure then, ring and ask few different members of the department as everyone states different rules

    So I’m just wanting to know how long roughly is it taking people to get there old passport received on the application. I can’t upgrade until then and I fly in 14 days

    Hi Vilkilee22

    Approx 10 days to 2 weeks. I would ring passport office first thing in morning and ask to be put through to management team. Be prepared to wait. We had 2 phones ringing. Keep your tracking no hannd from post office

    Will they be able to help I’ve phoned today and not got much help, just said I had to wait for a text to say they’ve got old passport. I can’t take no more stress. It’s going to be a very close call to get this passport 😞
