    Hi there, I was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat / any advice.
    I applied for my newborn’s passport mid May, from the Netherlands. We have pre-arranged flights booked to the US on 26th July. Today is now 2 weeks before we travel. My mother is in the UK and at this point I’m wondering whether it would be possible for her to turn up at a Passport Office (with a letter of consent from me saying she can discuss the application) and see if she can get it in person? Thought she could then send it to us / worse case fly over with it?! Ringing the helpline has proven to get me nowhere (just told that it will be “any day now” that the application gets approved), so I’m trying to think of other options. If anyone has any advice I’d greatly appreciate it!

    How long is it since “documents received”? You might be able to get the expedite team to do something. I would try emailing them, mentioning your upcoming flight date.

    @Wolfegal,

    My documents were recorded as recieved on June. 21. and are still sitting this stage, I assume in a big pile awaiting thier turn to be processed. I would not anticipate the application could be expedited until at least 10 weeks are up.

    Mine BtW is an standard adult renewal.

    @wolfegal we are overseas and had success with the expedite team but they will only do something if it is over 10 weeks. I have heard people on here have had luck with upgrade team if it is over 6 weeks and travel is within 2 weeks, but I am unsure if it will work since you are overseas.
