Hi, I just wondered if anyone could help me (without having to phone through to HPMO and being hours on hold)

I’ve applied for my child’s first passport online and filled out all the details in my married name. Although, my passport is currently in my maiden name. My child’s birth certificate is in my married name but shows what my maiden surname was.
I’m just wondering if this is-
    A) correct?
    B) do I need to send any extra info to send to them to approve it?

I just wanted to know if anyone had gone through this process?
I am quite worried that I’ve filled out the application form wrong and that it’s going to go to an examiner and obviously take forever to come back!

Hey, would this not mean that your details on your passport will not match the details you’ve submitted on the application form hence confusing them? From personal experience I know how very particular they are about this stuff!

I really don’t know to be honest. If I filled in my details with my maiden name- the supporting evidence which is my child’s birth certificate is under my married name.

I will try contacting them on Tuesday and feedback to this forum if anyone is in this situation going forward

Did you send in your marriage certificate aswell? If you did then fingers crossed it should be ok! Good luck

Im also in this same situation. I did not send the marriage certificate off and just thought that the fact the birth certificate shows my wife maiden name will be enough. I will be interested to see how you get on. Our first child application went to documents recieved on 13/04 after applying on 03/04. Our holiday is booked for 23/05.

I didn’t send in my marriage certificate as the birth certificate has both my married surname and maiden surname on- so thought this would suffice
I’ll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say and will let you know
I go on holiday on the 14th of June- so hoping I get them back in time (I’ve sent 2 child’s first passports off, 1 to Hemel Hempstead and another to Peterborough)
