What does application processed mean?

My sons passport is due to expire on 2 August and we were originally due to travel on 8 July to a Italy (flight still not cancelled). We applied onlineon 29 March and confirmed as being processed on 6 April but so far nothing. How do you know which PP office is processing? Also stats show 30 days average processing time so we are outside this. Sounds like nothing we can do to speed it up but posting in Case any bright ideas or if this info is useful?

I’m in a similar situation. My daughters expires August and we are due to travel to USA in August. It’s a renewal and we did it online 21st March and sent her old passport to Peterborough. Documents were received 30th Match and started to be processed and that’s the last update I have.
Where did they ask you to send the documents to? That’s the passport office which will be dealing with your sons.

HI.
I applied for child passport renewal and application is being processed since 4 March 2020 and still no sign of the passport and customer service telling me there are delays due to Covid19. It’s very frustrating as we are relocating to US and need the passport asap and it’s taking more than 2.5 months. And customer service is not willing to help.

HI, yes, I am still waiting …since 3rd March. … very frustrating as I need to send the passport off to apply for a relocation visa and this is massively delaying our next move

Hi all my application approved today.
It was in process since 24 March.
Sent to Newport Passport office.
First Adult passport.

Its took almost 11 weeks.

I called the offices end of August 2021 (I applied and sent old passport back on 21:08:2021) and was told that application processed means t(in my case – an adult renewal) means the old passport has been scanned into the system. That was 21 days ago now still nothing.

Once the application is in the system they will or cannot do anything until it goes beyond 10 weeks. Then you can bring some pressure to bear. I learned this from the passport office
