Worried about passport queue

Hello,

This might be the stupidest question ever, but I’m travelling 6 hours to Durham for a fast track renewal since my passport got damaged.

My appointment is at 10am, but I understand there are queues outside the offices to get in. What happens if I’m late for my appointment because of the queue? I’m assuming they will understand and wont turn me away? Surely hundreds of other people have been in this exact situation?

I’m definitely overthinking, but was hoping someone could help put my mind at ease haha.

From what I’ve heard there are 2 queues. One for appointments and one for those without. Try and get there a bit earlier if you can but you should be fine if you’ve got an appointment
