ParticipantJespop30 – the whole process is just strange. We have just cancelled our holiday and requested passport back to go Fasttrack .. glad your journey is nearly done 😎

ParticipantI was told that because there are so many approved they are leaving them in system until TNT are picking up a batch at which point they are printed. Think it’s pick up and scanning by TNT is now the bottleneck. They would rather have them on system than 1000’s of actual passports lying about 🤷♀️

ParticipantMaryy93 and Frustrated_1 was 3-4 weeks when we applied and our holiday was transferred from year before due to Covid but no compensation as we booked travel apparently without a passport. 🤷♀️😡

Participant@Frustrated_1 same applied 16 February been in processing since 4 March and not even at examiner stage yet. Just in process of changing holiday booked for 6 April.

ParticipantAmazing for all the people receiving passports but sadly most of these seem to be those that don’t disappear into the black hole known as “manual checking” ours been in there for 3 weeks and counting and despite calling every day still not even been looked at 😡

ParticipantHope you had a good holiday 😎 we applied for a child renewal same day as you and it’s still processing – very doubtful it will arrive now for our holiday on 6 April. No processes in place at all and no one willing to help! It’s a shambles 😔

ParticipantNot sure Badger what’s going on and actually don’t think HMPO have a clue either. Seems simple that those that need checked are done in order but obviously that would be far too easy 🙄

Delighted for those that have received passports but cannot help feeling angry and frustrated that ours were submitted One mid January and the other mid February have been in processing since 4 March. Others after that date are already delivered. How is that 🤷♀️😭 both simple child renewals 😡

ParticipantProcessing over 2 weeks now and phoning every other day and they can’t even say where you are in the queue.. obviously because there is no queue.. we have to decide by next week if we need to cancel our holiday. They also told us that some sit in processing longer depending on the nature of the problem .. I think they make it up as they go along 🤷♀️

ParticipantGenuinely happy for all the people who have received passports but so angry and frustrated that it is dependant on who answers the phone. We have been unlucky to speak to people who are reading from the script and won’t do one single thing to help. We are supposed to fly on 6 April but need to decide by next week if we cancel or not which is looking more and more likely. It’s an actual joke but not a funny one!! 😡

ParticipantWell just received a call back a week later from Slough 🤷♀️ Completely useless – we applied mid February online but your countdown does not start til documents received which for us was 2 March. I asked why some sent to process after ours are approved before ours and its because apparently every one is there for a different reason but the point is they are not being done in order!!
If you have a flight or holiday booked less than 5 weeks from date your documents are logged then not much hope!
They certainly will not try to help or expedite urgent cases! If I hear you didn’t allow 10 weeks once more I will scream 😡 I asked if they were aware of all the complaints on twitter and other forums and she said they hadn’t had a lot of complaints 🤪🤪🤪🤪 looks like our holiday is ruined so cheer’s HMPO 👍ADgrams
ParticipantTo be honest you cannot gauge your experience against anyone else. Starting to believe it’s a lottery as there is certainly no process in place. Ours have been in processing over 2 weeks… it’s as if you get added to a pile and new ones are placed on top rather than the bottom of the pile. It’s actually infuriating- if this was a private company they wouldn’t get away with it!

I was not even aware of a management team that you can escalate to or that you could request local printing. Pererborough sound a lot more helpful than Liverpool 😢 -
