    For anyone else in the uk unable to get their passports and missing flights due to the total log-jam and poor customer service in the Passport Office

    I’m sympathetic to the people who do have processing delays, but I don’t think the situation is really all that bad.

    The stats on this site show the average time from application to receipt to be 24-31 days, which is well within the advertised 10 week window.

    What I am finding really unfair for everyone affected is that some applications that are sent in after are getting processed first. There really should be a date order system

    It probably depends. Different types of applications probably go into different queues.

    I think it should be more obvious where in the queue you are, and what your expected time is, and certainly the times to acknowledge receipt of documents is shocking – but I think it’s common sense that some applications would go faster than others.

    Application approved: 21 March 2022
    Passport printed: 23 March 2022
    TNT tracking available: 28 March 2022
    Delivered: 29 March 2022
