Received two adult renewals and first child passport through the letterbox yesterday 17th July. All 3 blue and from Durham office. Full timeline (I sent documents for all 3 together as a family application meaning all 3 progressed at the same stage together)
Passport received 17th July
Passport printed and sent 3:15pm on 15 July 2020
Application approved 10:01am on 14 July 2020
Application being processed 7:44am on 25 June 2020
Documents received 12:35pm on 23 June 2020
Application received 7:05pm on 12 June 2020

Application submitted 7:05pm on 12 June 2020I requested a callback Monday morning and they called me this afternoon (Wednesday) so was roughly 54hrs. Didn’t need to speak to them though as my passports were already approved yesterday morning
Kazb my friend had her daughter’s photo rejected for first child passport. She did the same, uploaded a new one straight away and it was approved the same day. She said it seemed as though all was ready to be approved once the photo was uploaded so if you don’t hear today I’d call tomorrow and chase. Good luck!
Well I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence (probably not) but after calling yesterday and still waiting for a callback from complaints, my husband and my adult renewals, and our baby’s first passport have just been approved!

Jamesd1974 if you don’t mind me asking, did you have special circumstances that the complaints team took into consideration? I’m waiting for a call back from complaints but the girl I spoke to this morning said they are unlikely to do anything to help as it is ‘just a holiday’ (despite me explaining that it was booked last September and we can’t reschedule).
* meant to add we fly 1st August so still some time to chase but getting more anxious as the days go by!

Have found your updates and advice very helpful these past couple of weeks!Waiting for first child passport (born in February) and two adult renewals (expired in April). Tried to be organised and apply in April but like most people delayed it as the online system advised (not an emergency).
Booked a holiday in September 2019 but assumed it would be cancelled when covid kicked off but it is going ahead and we can’t delay or cancel. Applied on 12th June and they’ve been in ‘application processing’ since 25th June.Emailed my MP last week but yet to get a reply. Set up a twitter account to DM on there but no response (yet). Called the passport office this morning and waiting for complaints to call me back. I’m just wondering for those that had their applications marked as urgent, did you have special circumstances? The girl I spoke to this morning said that complaints were unlikely to do anything as it is ‘just a holiday’. I understand others have more urgent circumstances but I’m a doctor and my husband is a key worker so we are well due the holiday we paid thousands for last year, I just find the attitude I’ve encountered over the phone so far very dismissive.
Any further advice would be much appreciated!
