Ref: one new child passport, one child renewal
Oh my goodness they’ve arrived!! Is it too good to be true??!
My story is that I kept receiving a countersigning error. Then I waited 14days for a call back from process team. They told me to send a letter to confirm I have parental responsibility. Then few days later I was sure something is wrong so called back again they told me to send a countersign section from post office. Went in to processing after that. Called in every day knowing it’s wrong because google has examiner guidance and says they can only accept certain things. I emailed MP. Complained x100. Sent msgs to senior HMPO people on Twitter/ LinkedIn. But nothing.
Anyway on 20/04/22 received call from examiner (team leader) to say she can see I’ve been messed around and I’ve been calling everyday so she is going to do what she can to speed up my application. She sent me this document next day delivery for me to countersign and send back to her. I sent it back on 21/04 with the label. Took down all her contact details and then emailed her the tracking number. On 22/04 it was approved and printed locally! I received 26/04.
Had the examiner not called me I’d be eligible for the upgrade but may not have qualified as they wouldn’t have everything they needed.
Today when tnt delivered he only came with one envelope I was really confused like where is the other and that dreaded panic hit me again. Then I saw him come back up my garden with the other!! Phew!

Application submitted 1 March 2022My very important advice to you is of examiner calls you please take down all their details ask for team mailbox email or direct email address. They are all willing to help. Everyone I’ve come across has been helpful but just couldn’t tell me what I wanted to hear because of the process.

amirun87ParticipantI applied 01/03/22 for both my children one new and one renewal. Both went into prociessing on 17/03 I had to send more documents in on 21/04 and approved and printed on 22/04

01/03/22 we submitted sons first passport applications and daughters renewal
01/03/22 sent the link to my friend to be countersigned
01/03/22 my friend could not countersign due to technical issue and I could not send or print the countersigning document
03/03/22 requested a call back from process team
14/03/22 process team called me back and told me that they can’t ascertain who has parental responsibility me or dad. I explained we both do both on bit th certificate. Sent a letter to explain and supporting documents
15/03/22 marked as received
16/03/22 i called the process team not satisified that countersigning hasn’t been completed. I was then advised to complete a paper application only countersign section. Sent this along with two photos and cover letter explaining
17/03/22 application gone into “processing”
Called everyday since
06/04/22 I’ve been told it’s with examiner (finally)
Too date no news…
So here’s my worry…because my application isn’t so straightforward I think examiner might ask for more docs (despite process team saying it all looks good). I fly on 06/05/22. And if I were to request upgrade it would be on 22/04/22 exactly two weeks before. However, if examiner doesn’t action and ask for these docs I won’t qualify for upgrade!! 😩😩😩

amirun87ParticipantRazOr: mine has similar timetable as you. Went into processing on 17th March been with examiner since 13th April but no news yet.
I just keep being told examiner will make contact if they need more details.

amirun87ParticipantI get that- I also work as a civil servant. At the end of they day it’s a business hence they have targets. The targets is 10weeks but upgrade can be used before then.
Mine is with an examiner at the moment but I’m sure there will be no movement on it until two weeks before and they will tell me yes you can upgrade.
Also the upgrade system only works if the application is ready…if it is ready why can’t they just approve it without the upgrade process. We all know they don’t work in date order.

amirun87ParticipantNassa41: exactly same thing happened to me today. Called the number and a guy called Liam told me it has changed to a paper system. I demanded to talk to someone senior but apparently that isnt possible. mine has been in processing for three weeks and i go away 6th May. It is looking doubtful for me too after that call.

amirun87ParticipantRachel20030: exactly the same situation as you on 17/03/22 my application status changed to processing on this day. I go on holiday on 06/05/22 keep getting different msgs.
amirun87ParticipantMaryy93: how absolutely awful! I’ve also been getting incorrect information from the start. You should contact bbc watchdog! Tell them of your experience I am sure they’d want to do something. By doing so you will help other not go through what you have been over the last couple months. Safe travels my lovely
