Today 11 August 2020 I’ve reached 45 days since my adult renewal application received at Durham PP office on 28 June. Current process advice says Gone for Printing yesterday so I guess it will be at least another week before I finally receive my new Passport? = 54 days start to finish! When I post the final timeline it will make a hole in the crowd sourced average of 19.7 days?
I have just received an SMS advice on 10 August that my Passport renewal is approved and it has been sent for printing. I started the application process on 28 June, they acknowledged receipt of Old Passport on 22 July (actual signed recorded delivery receipt by Durham PP office was 3 July?) and was advised being processed on 27 July. So I’m still waiting! Be surprised if I receive new passport before 20 August? Whatever, I will log it into the passportwaitingtime calculator. So simple renewal will end up taking about 54 days from start to receipt of new passport! Fortunately I do not have an urgent need to travel, but living in France my Passport is my primary identification document which has to be carried at all times and can be demanded by authorities without warning.
Applied for renewal from France on 28 June 2020 and paid cost for new Passport. This was acknowledged and told to send Old Passport. Old Passport mailed by recorded delivery from France on 29 June 2020. La Poste Tracking shows that passport received at Durham, Passport Office on 3 July 2020. No change in “Manage Your Application” information, still showing Send us your Old Passport, application on Hold until received. On 13 July received chaser email saying “Send Your Old Passport”? Continue to check application status which until 19 July is unchanged. Despite leaving two messages on the Passport Office Message Board, which states replies within 24 hours and requesting phone callback I have received nothing in return for my £156 fee which has been processed through my bank account.
I have paid for a service which has not been provided. I believe the legal terminolgy for this is Fraud (correct me if I’m wrong.
