ParticipantLost passport, applied 23rd march, went into processing 30th march and still waiting. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer!!

ParticipantHi did get a lost reference number just after I posted this thread. Still waiting for my passport to be approved though (applied 23/03). Lost passports are taking a while at the moment, seem to be a minimum of 8/9 weeks from what I can gather.
Cariad94
ParticipantActually that should be at least 7/8 weeks

ParticipantHi I applied 23 march, went into processing on 30th march and still waiting for it to be approved. It seems that lost passports take 7/8 weeks to get approved

ParticipantIt means that I needs to be looked at by an examiner, basically it’s fallen out of the “digital” route. Mine is a lost passport replacement, and has been processing since 30th march. From what I can see, it’s likely to take longer if it goes into processing

Participant@passportwait, I think that might be a good sign actually…… Someone has actually looked at your application!

Participant@max1978, that sounds like B/S to me! I think they’re just fobbing you off. I think most people add their lost reference number after the application is made, just don’t see why it would make a difference, if (by some miracle!) it was picked up by an examiner before you gave them the reference number, surely they would just contact you for it?
Cariad94
ParticipantOnly the ‘contact us’ form via the website. Good luck! Let us know how you get on
Cariad94
ParticipantSurely you can push for it to be expedited now as they’ve had it so long? I would keep emailing them asking them to prioritise due to the length of time you’ve been waiting

ParticipantDoesn’t seem to be many of us at Newport! I’ve been waiting 5 weeks for a lost passport. What seems to be your hold up?

ParticipantI would probably cancel it again, if you haven’t had a cancellation reference number then it probably hasn’t been cancelled. And they wont process your replacement application without that number
Cariad94
Participant14th April so it clearly wasn’t being and hasn’t yet been “looked at”!

ParticipantThank you for providing the required information.
I have now made the processing office aware of the Lost reference number. The application is now being looked at. We do not need anything further at this stage, but if the Passport Officer needs additional information, they will contact you.
I had this, but still got no faith in them haha!

Participant@max1978, I emailed them my lost reference number and had a reply to say it had been passed onto the processing team. I’m wondering now if that is BS?! Were you also told that by email?
Cariad94
ParticipantMine is also a replacement passport. If you email them via the’contact us’ form on their website, they’ll tell you which passport office is dealing with your application
