Cat22ParticipantHave you tried TNT final mile?
You can just put in your post code and pex number.Cat22ParticipantTo anyone who thinks just getting the passport approved and then printed is hard enough, I am sorry to say just wait until you have to deal with TNT!
No notice from HMPO it was out for delivery. The guy didn’t even bother trying and went to the wrong address. Called to ask if he could come back. Lots of assurances given. All lies. Fed up with being lied to by incompetent people.Cat22ParticipantOut for delivery today. No text but found out by looking on the TNT website.
Driver didn’t even attempt delivery. Having to try and convince them to turn around and come back. They should contract out with Amazon delivery drivers – never had a failed delivery with them. So angry right now.Cat22ParticipantApplied March 29 for renewal
April 5th went to processing
Read on here we would need to cancel the expired one as it was lost May 19
Never got a lost reference
Applied for upgrade on Sat 4 June
Application approved Monday 6 June
Printed Wednesday 8th of June (10 weeks 1 day)
Flights booked for 18th June. Waiting delivery.
I think they saw the upgrade email and figured it was one they could push through in time. Wish we had emailed soonerCat22ParticipantIts been printed!! I could cry. Now we just need it to be delivered.
Cat22ParticipantHas anyone had any updates? Mine is still just showing approved. Back to being super stressed out again 😰
Cat22ParticipantMakes me nervous too. I think I would have preferred taking our chances turning up at the passport office before we were due to fly.
Cat22ParticipantYou apply for the upgrade 2 weeks before travel by phone and then you should get an email from the upgrade team telling them what to put in an email to them (inc flight confirmation). My understanding is that you only pay for the upgrade if it is successful. They will take payment by phone.
Personally i would not assume that it will arrive before you fly and apply for the upgrade as in your case you will have been waiting more than 6 weeks. (I am on over 9 weeks since applying with no movement)
Cat22ParticipantMy other half’s is the same. We didn’t know if we should apply for a renewal or lost passport as it had expired and then was lost. No docs have been requested.
Online chat can tell you who is dealing with your application.
Will be requesting an upgrade on sat for a flight on the 18th. Fully expecting to have to go to Peterborough 48 hours before travel though.Cat22ParticipantYou can ask on the online chat which office is currently processing your application. Though I would check near when you will apply for upgrade as I have been told it can change.
Cat22ParticipantAlso what ID do you need to collect your passport? My other half doesn’t have a photo driving license? Would proof of address do?
Cat22ParticipantLooking for some clarification on the 48 hour window.
Resigning myself to going to Peterborough 48 hours before we fly on the 18th June. My question is that if we don’t fly until 5pm on Sat 18th will i be seen if i arrive early hours on Thursday? – how strict are they (that’s within two days but not technically 48 hours)?
Am i just over thinking this? Have i lost all grip on reality?Cat22ParticipantWell now I am at 9 weeks since applying 29th March.
I don’t blame anyone who was lucky enough to get theirs returned quicker than 10 weeks but HMPO really needs to put resources aside to help those whose applications are hitting/over 10 weeks. And not just try to get their stats down for recent applicants. You shouldn’t have to wait to 2 weeks before. And that doesn’t help anyone who needs it for other reasons. We also need my other half’s for a house sale.
You follow the guidance and what do you get – blamed and then made to feel you shouldn’t be angry about it. The stress this is causing is unreal. Some of the stories I have read on here and on Facebook have been heartbreaking. When will they get their act together!
Rant over. 😞Cat22ParticipantAs an earlier post said (and thank you for letting us about it) …
Just wanted to let you all know that I spoke to TUI and they have confirmed that it is an option to move the holiday if you have proof of waiting 10 or more weeks without an admin fee. But you can only can do this up to 3 days before travel.
So now I feel I am gambling on the upgrade team even more! My plan had been to go to Peterborough 48 hours out. -
