@Richie yes I am grateful for that atleast, for once I booked things directly through hotel and separate flights, as if I had booked through an agency like usual I’d probably have lost thousands. I did have to pay a bit extra for the flight difference but thankfully not too much.
No, I downloaded the DHL express App (I had read in some other posts to do this) and I made an account with my address. It was this app then that gave me an instant notification when they scanned my label. I haven’t recieved an email or a text message from DHL with any tracking numbers. This app shows my item and has a WAYBILL number which is the tracking number. It is completely different to my PEX number and any of the other numerous numbers that the passport office gave me for tracking over the previous 4 days. I assume the app linked with my address and email on my account to instantly give me a notification. It has since moved from picked up this morning to in transit at Heathrow Airport.
I tried to call the DHL depot here to arrange collection as it could arrive there tomorrow, but my phone company has cut me off from making any more phone calls as I’ve run up am extremely high bill calling HMPO… I just have to laugh really at this stage I’d prefer that then crying..like I have felt like doing the last few days.
Just to give an update….
Finally recieved tracking from DHL this morning. I downloaded the DHL express App and made an account over the weekend entering my address and details. I automatically received a notification from the app this morning as soon as they collected the passport and scanned it. So it took from Wednesday 8th printed to being picked up by DHL this morning 13th. It has an estimated delivery of Wednesday 15th so I hope it sticks to this timescale.
I have had to cancel my hotel and will now re schedule my flights till Thursday and myself and my son can fly out later and join the rest of our family and friends.
Still gutted but definitely a bit of stress lifted now I know where it is and can actual track it in real time rather than feeling in limbo and not knowing anything.
Hi @Richie yes I had thought of that too and checked An Post tracking and none of the reference codes I’ve been given are showing up on that either. I have a friend that works in the local sorting office here in An Post so his gonna have a look throughout Sunday night for me and see if anything shows up. I’ll get back on the phone to HMPO first thing Monday morning my head is melted today after it all.
@davbell87 that’s great, delighted yours has arrived for you. Still no sign of my sons today unfortunately. Been on the phone between the HMPO DHL and TNT all morning and no one seems to know where it is now. So I’m just playing a waiting game really. Looking to re schedule flights from Monday to Thursday next week in the hope that it arrives by Wednesday now.
Hi @Cat22 delighted you got yours delivered 🙂 yes I’ve tried that on TNT but as we have eircodes here in Republic of Ireland it won’t let me enter that in the postcode area so it won’t work for me. Seeing other people’s experiences I think I’ll just end up having to wait till DHL contact me and say its out for delivery. I’m hoping that’s tomorrow, if not ill have to think about changing my flights till later next week unfortunately.
Thanks @Wanting3 that puts my mind at ease a little bit. I spoke to TNT earlier and they didn’t seem to have anything matching my PEX number or the track and trace number HMPO gave me today. They said they pick up late afternoon and evening from the Central print location so I’m hoping it gets collected today as the next pick up won’t be till Monday.
Hi @Upsidedown yes I’ve tried that and given that number to both TNT and DHL over the phone and its showing nothing. Just off the phone from HMPO and told it was printed at Central print location and could still be waiting there to be collected by TNT 🙁 they did give me a different track and trace number for it that it has been given, so I’m currently on hold to TNT to try and find out if it’s even been collected by them at all. Apparently they only collect Mon-Fri so it’s highly unlikely I’ll receive now before our flight on Monday. I just want to know if I’ll get it by even Tues of next week as I can re book my flights at a highly increased price…and fly out on Wednesday at the latest.
Just wondering anyone have a time frame to when they recieved their passport by courier? Got an email 7th June says passport printed and sent by secure delivery. Got a txt from passport office the following morning 8th June saying passport will be sent to the address gave. Still no passport yet and no tracking details from couriers. I have rang TNT and they haven’t got anything that matches my reference number nor have DHL. TNT told me they collect all passports and give the ones for Europe delivery to DHL who in turn re label and send out, at which time I should recieve tracking info from DHL. As we are in the Republic of Ireland I know it won’t be next day delivery like most of you have luckily got in the UK. I’m just worrying wondering is the passport still sitting in the printing office and even been collected yet!! Currently on hold to HMPO the last hour trying to get some advice on where it is now. Due to fly Monday 13th June. Has anyone just recieved the passport from DHL without any tracking or delivery text/email notifications?

Hi @GoodLife I have an overseas renewal in for my son submitted start of April. Tracking only updated as documents recieved 12th May….been waiting till 4th June to change to approved. Last night I got an email saying passport printed and got an sms text this morning from passport office saying it will be delivered to the address I gave. Hoping it is delivered by this Saturday as we are due to fly on Monday. Was told by helpline this morning as we are in Republic of Ireland it will be delivered by DHL but haven’t heard from them yet notifying of a delivery time frame.
Hi, glad ye have received yours. Just to update I got an email this evening tracking has updated now to printed and says its been sent by secure delivery. I’m just hoping now it arrives before Monday 13th when we are due to fly. Its been such a stressful experience especially seeing other applications sent in after mine come back so quickly.
Hi just wondering did your tracking ever update after approval? My sons renewal has gone to approved 4th June rang this morning to be told it has been printed the same day. I am still waiting for delivery or any updates on delivery time. We are in the Republic of Ireland and we are due to fly 13th June. Really hoping we get it delivered in time.
Hi my sons overseas renewal was finally approved 4th June. No movement since. Been told on phone this morning it says printed on there side. We are due to fly 13th June. Has anyone’s application gone to approved and they have received it before the tracking was updated again? I’m really holding out hope that we receive it in time we are in the Republic of Ireland.
Update.
Never heard anything back from the upgrade team but passport tracking updated as APPROVED 4th June. I’m still waiting in anymore movement. Called this morning to be told it says printed on there side and due to this I can’t travel to any passport office to have it updated and printed there and then. So its just a waiting game this week to see will it arrive. They have said it could already be with a courier, but it could also take up to 2 weeks after its been approved to me receiving….absolute nightmare… I’m still holding out that we receive it by the end of the week and don’t have to cancel our holiday!!!Hi, has anyone recieved there passport without any further tracking updates once it has been approved? I am waiting for my sons renewal to be sent to Ireland. It was approved 4th June. Spoke to an agent on phone this morning it says printed 4th June on the system for them but are unable to tell me if its been sent out or just sitting there. We are due to fly 13th June and we submitted application at start of April. Has anyone oversees experienced similar and recieved their passport quickly after approval? Application was in Durham office.
