Re: tracking information, I sent a private tweet to @HMPassport Office outlining my PEX number and asked for TNT tracking information.
The reply tweet stated the tracking number. It was sent by courier Friday 5pm and arrived the next Wednesday. Clearly, it’s on a 3-day service.
So no rush, for them!

I was where you are with the passport anxiety. (Adult renewal). Application submitted online 26th June. Arrived yesterday.
I filled in the online form via gov.uk marked URGENT to expedite and quite soon afterwards, I was asked for evidence from this email address: HMPassportOfficeLiverpoolRQCSC@hmpo.gov.uk That’s when I was told that where you send your expired passport to (in my case, Durham) has no bearing on where the passport is actually processed (Liverpool).
Further delays were caused by my evidence not arriving due to their HM Passport servers blocking password protected attachments. I only realised when I chased again and they said ‘send evidence’. (I screenshotted everything and resubmitted).
Keep at them. Phone every day and keeping tweeting. They replied to tweet after 5 days. You will get there, I’m sure. Passport had been ‘processing’ for 7 days, then they phoned me back once in receipt of evidence and it was approved and posted within a further 2 days.
I know how you feel!
charlie2566ParticipantHi. Passport tracker was indicating posted on Friday 17th July. There’s a link to TNT. But without a consignment / tracking number, it’s impossible to track.
Any idea how to do this, anyone?
charlie2566Participant*Update!*
So, beginning of last week, I sent an email via the online messaging service to HMPO, referencing my PEX number. I gave our travel dates. (1st August 2020).
HMPO Liverpool phoned me back, asking me for flight evidence as my adult renewal was being processed there. It’s worth noting everyone, that where you send your expired passport to, actually bears no relevance to where the processing is being done!
I emailed and pushed a few times. The people I spoke to were all very polite and pretty understanding. I had booked travel in June – so not before lockdown. They never asked me *when* I made the booking. Only flight info.
Just now awaiting courier delivery, following yesterday’s update.

charlie2566ParticipantSo, I’ve had another night feeling incredibly edgy. We’ve all paid min £80 for a service with an indeterminate completion date.
Submitted Adult renewal online on 26th June. On 6th July, tracker registered old passport received. (1 week after signed for).
Am I missing the point entirely, or is it now simply….
1.) Review scan of old passport photo versus online application photo
2.) Is this woman the same person, 10 years older? Check
3.) Photo still horrible, as per 10 years ago? Check
4.) Press button to authorise passport printing and post it
5.) End of process.Even my teenagers could do the job (if they could make it out of bed).
Argh!

charlie2566Participant**feeling edgy**
So we booked a last-minute family holiday to Spain on the proviso that travel there was to be imminently possible without quarantine issues.
My passport expired last year and there was no impetus to renew. After booking holiday, started to panic on seeing this website and applied immediately online for a renewal, Friday 26th June.
Expired passport was signed for Special Delivery on Monday 29th June 2020 at Durham Office.
Online tracker to-date, still saying “Send us your passport.”
Flying 1st August 2020.
All I can do is pray (and I’m an atheist, so don’t think God would even want to help!)
