For those who applied online – When you are putting in the reference number do you need to include the PEX part?

The same thing happened to me, only I discovered they didn’t process my fast track application but just kept my original application. When I pointed out in the strongest terms that I had paid for a premium service, they were completely nonchalant. 2 hours later my original application it got approved. Still waiting for it to be printed and sent.

Madsmead – is your original application still visible online?

I will definitely come back on here and comment when/if received. The person at the passport office yesterday didnt even ask for a withdrawal letter until I prompted him – he seemed so laid back and confident I would get it on time but from the service to date, all the responses here – and the queues of stressed people behind me yesterday- I am not so sure. lets be honest – they can say whatever they like knowing full well the chances of you meeting again are so incredibly slim. Plus this time last week I was told on the phone that my original application had been printed and everyone I have spoken to since has said its still with an examiner.
This has become all consuming for me – I know its ‘just a holiday’, but this is the first time the whole family were going to go away in over 20 years – and I will be the only one not there. I have to keep thinking bigger picture – got my health etc, but I have completely lost confidence in government agencies as a result of this. I have another year on my driving licence but tempted to start that 6 months beforehand now so I am not in the same situation with that!

I submitted mine on 23/2/22….took a week (until 1/3/22) to acknowledge receipt and then nothing since. I know they are saying it could take up to 10 weeks, but that wasn’t the waiting time when I signed up. I switched to fast track yesterday after spotting a cancellation appointment and now am on tenterhooks to see if they will accept my withdrawal of my original application and process this on time for Friday. if I had my time again – I would opt for fast track – an incredibly huge markup on the cost but worth it when I consider the stress this has caused and the money I will lose if it doesn’t arrive on time

I’m due to fly on 30/3/21 – will lose my Airbnb booking money, airport parking and waiting to hear about whether I will lose flight money too. Gutted – when I renewed in 2012, it took less than 3 weeks so I stupidly thought it would be similar this time as it was just a renewal. I wish I has paid extra abd taken the premium option

I’ve been in ‘application processing’ since 1/3/22. From what I’ve gathered online, most people in this position have found it to be an issue with their photo not meeting requirements or their counter signatory. Of course there good be other reasons!
