At this point I can’t quite believe how much of a shambles this actually is. I’m a dual national and will be turning 18 soon which require me to administrative things with urgency. I sent my application to liverpool on the 14th of March. There is no simple way to get my passport back and they keep spewing out the same garbage each time. This is freaking me out.
From what I’m hearing the Liverpool office (where I sent my documents to) is an absolute mess it’s been since the 14th of March now. I understand that its a pandemic but considering the government has sent everyone else off to work the fact that the passport office has got barely anyone is ridiculous.
I believe that surely given the fact that I had submitted my application beforehand they would have notified me that I need a passport interview, also if it helps I am not a neutralised citizen I simply registered my citizenship.
It’s a real shame at how poorly they are dealing with the situation. If anything they could at least offer to send me my other passport back (which is from a country also badly hit by Covid yet they were able to turnaround new passports for my family easily) personally I think its a real shame that they can’t be bothered to at least give us a little more information such as an eta.Seeing that people have mentioned that the problems are mainly for those abroad I’d like to share my story. I’m applying for a first adult passport. My application was submitted on the 14th of March, documents received on the 18th of March, and the application began being processed on the 20th of March. Please note all these dates are pre lockdown.
Its coming up to two months now and I am getting concerned. They have my other passport and I have a trip booked for the 25th of June which if the situation permits I intend to go on.
They tell us not to contact but I am getting worried now.
