To add…. The “10 week” timeframe was also confirmed as starting once an application lives into processing, not from when the application was first submitted!!!
Got out cancellation ref 2 weeks after reporting it.
On week 6 of application phoned to ask of this was on my application (due to info on the forums). It wasn’t, so staff added it on.
2 weeks on, application is still in processing. Providing the number doesn’t seem to have moved it along at all!
Been in processing for 7.5 weeks (8.5 weeks since originally applied).
It’s really starting to get on my nerves. Fly in 24 days and the anxiety of waiting for the passport had killed any excitement.
Hoping it gets sorted this week so don’t have to go through the hassle of trying to fast track!
Not sure if they do on weekends howver if your flight is so close I would consider the upgrade option.
Has your application moved into processing yet? It will move into either Processing-Digital or Processing before it would live to approve.
Digital route it is usually approved within 2 days, then a further 2 days for printing and delivery.
If it goes into standard processing you could be waiting as long as 10 weeks (I’m currently on 8.5 weeks in processing stage).
Renewing a lost passport and it’s been 8.5 weeks now.

Been stuck waiting ever since and whenever I call I get told I need to either wait until the 10 weeks Have passed, or 2 weeks before our flight we can pay to upgrade (you need to show proof of booked flights)
We fly in 4 weeks so hoping things are sorted soon!

Emailing confirming old passport April 9thIt was about 2 weeks after reporting the passport list we got an confirmation emai with a reference. You new passport won’t be issued until they have the cancellation ref.
As on some threads there has been issues pulling through the cancellation ref which is holding up processing. So as soon as you get your email with your cancellation ref phone uo and give it to them!
Was getting nowhere with webchat so tried a suggestion on the forum and it worked!
Phone the standard phone number.
Press 0 to continue call in WelshSomeone answered straight away and asked if I wanted to continue in Welsh or English. Obviously said English and then the call continued as normal!
Weeks of waiting and this cheeky route hit me through to someone in less than 5 minutes!
I believe it’s 10 weeks from application assuming everything goes to plan. Worth noting it’s not a contractual timeline and just a guideline…. Could take less time could take longer… just depends on what it is they are looking into and the volume they have to deal with.
We have been in “processing” now since March 31st, so coming up to 7 weeks. Looking through this forum it seems to be between 6 to 8 weeks in the processing stage, followed by 1 to 2 weeks for printing and delivery.
You can pay to upgrade to a fast track if you are due to fly within two weeks. Just need to provide them your flight details and pay for the service.
@gradders I can’t seem to get through to them. Just cuts out. I tried the option 8 option 3 and requested a call back… that was a week a go!
Also waiting for a replacement of a lost passport. Current status below (7week wait so far)

Application submitted 23 March 2022It took about 3 weeks after applying for us to get the cancellation ref for the old passport. Main thing to look out for is moving to “your application is being processed”. It will move to that stage once all initial checks etc have been done.
Bare in mind for replacements I’ve been quoted that the “processing stage” at the moment is 6-9 weeks. Then after that an additional 2 weeks for printing and delivery.
To add it’s a renewal of a lost passport. Have you had confirmation your previous one has been cancelled?
You will get an email saying damaged one is officially cancelled with a reference number. You won’t move into processing until they confirm this.
We are waiting on a renewal and it’s been 7 weeks so far and still waiting. We applied on March 23rd and it moved to “application being processed” on March 31st.
