Hopefully tomorrow the person I asked confirms my identity so I can ship my documents

I recently spoke with the Passport office to ask then if I can send them photocopies of my passport, instead of the actual thing – to with they said yes, providing I attach a cover letter explaining the reasons why.

However, I am in the final stages of my application – when a family emergency abroad has arisen, which will mean I have to travel, but don’t know exactly when I will be back.

Is it possible to have my passport sent to an address outside of the UK or to the nearest diplomatic mission? Or they can only sent it to the address you put on the application
