I have no hope that it will be completed within the 10 weeks

Maybe speak to your MP – I’ve just had a 4 month drama with the DVLA with a licence and in the end the intervention of my MP seemed to move it on – admittedly my MP is Matt Hancock and he seemed to be on a rehabilitation tour so was only too happy to help – yours may be less enthusiastic!

I’m still stuck on documents received

Stuck on documents received is good! There are two routes through their system the digital route and the processing route – if your application drops into the processing route you’ll get a processing update, if it remains in the digital route it will go straight to approved from docs received

    .. 29?

30 when including the end date which is how I counted it.

They’ll still post through letterbox correct?

Correct – look out for a picture of your front door and the status driver deliver on TNT tracking – you’ll then know it’s on your doormat!

So as I started this thread here is the update – it’s here!! 9 days on approved but the date on the actual passport is issued on 13th March, day it was approved – I am assuming that was when it was printed, all in all 30 days from start to finish – so given the timescales on the site now happy with that.

So it’s arrived! Yipee!! So here is my full timeline for reference – in total 30 days from application going in to passport in hand, first time application with online interview. I am assuming this is the digital pathway as there was no processing update, straight from docs received to approved. Good luck everyone still waiting.

    Passport delivered 12.34pm on 22 March 2022
    Passport printed 1:33pm on 21 March 2022
    Application approved 2:11pm on 13 March 2022
    Documents received 9:04am on 5 March 2022
    Application received 8:30pm on 21 February 2022
Identity details received 7:59pm on 21 February 2022
Email sent to person confirming your identity 7:35pm on 21 February 2022
Ask someone to confirm your identity 7:32pm on 21 February 2022
    Application submitted 7:32pm on 21 February 2022

Ha, I just checked TNT again and it says “Driver Delivery” and has a photo of my flat door. I’ll have to wait another ~6 hours to find out if it has been dropped off through the letterbox.

Exactly the same for me – and I have it in my hand – so I would think it’s safe to assume it’s been posted through

@amy93 I did read somewhere that Royal Mail are having to step in to deliver some in order to clear the backlog, so it could be your new passport!

They switched to courier to speed the service up and make it more secure – but clearly the contract went to the lowest bidders, who obviously can’t handle the quantities involved (OK post COVID this is obviously adding extra pressure) but it’s not as if a passport comes in a large box requiring lots of vans etc, you can probably get tens of thousands of passports in a van, there really is no excuse for the poor service from TNT.

It was finally approved yesterday, not even 3 hours after I had an urgent call back from the progress team, now just the wait for it to be printed and delivered, hopefully it’s back within 11 days as need it in 12 days.

Glad it’s been approved – mine took 9 days to be printed and was printed yesterday and is out for delivery today – so hopefully you’ve enough time to go even based on my timescales – hopefully it will be quicker for you though.

Mine was same Howler, got the text it was despatched by HMPO last Tuesday but took nearly a week for anything to appear on TNT then boom, I tried last night at 6pm and it let me in to see tracking.

Annoyingly there is no rhyme or reason to this – it really does seem to be luck of the draw – I got the printed text yesterday from HMPO and within an hour tracking was on the TNT site, out for delivery today.

Not necessarily – I did not have to go through an interview for my 1st passport poet-naturalisation, seek my posts for more details

I am assuming there is an interview as part of the naturalisation process? Maybe then in these cases that interview carries over into the passport application? My application was a first passport (though I had one years ago was advised to apply as if first) and I had an interview.

yes I try the TNT final page every half hour! it just says error we could not find what you were looking for , please check the details.
    so frustrating.

How frustrating so I would imagine it’s not been scanned into the TNT system yet, hopefully it will update later today – good luck.

Is there anyone here that applied after naturalisation?

If this will be your first British Passport then yes there will be an interview – at the moment they are being done virtually.

I had the text from passport office that it was despatched Thursday , but no tracking is working yet .
i am hoping looking at your timelines mine should appear on TNT today , as i fly Friday

From what I can gather and from personal experience the printed update on the application tracking is triggered when TNT collect the document. You do know you can use your PEX number and postcode to track it on the TNT site – just enter your PEX number in Application reference on the tracking page

My TNT tracker just updated with details on my passport delivery, it initially said that delivery is scheduled for Wednesday but I have just changed it to tomorrow; fingers crossed it all works out.

Same here originally showed 23rd, last night updated to today – and is also out for delivery
