Jms, I have the same time line as you – printed yesterday however I cannot access an estimated delivery date for the 23rd- Did u receive this as a text? Praying mine does Wednesday but it seems to good to be true

Mine printed today and when it tracked on TNT it showed the 23rd for delivery, it’s subsequently updated again showing tomorrow for delivery – If you visit the TNT tracking you can use your PEX number and postcode – you don’t need to wait for them to send you tracking.

They’ve introduced a new stage I think where it just says printed and then you will get another text once it is with TNT for delivery. 17 March approval, printed this afternoon but not yet sent – expect about a week door to door to receive my passport.

Personally I think there isn’t a further text and in fact HMPO are trying to distance themselves from the delays in the TNT system by ambiguous talk of ‘a few days’ etc and removing the ‘printing and sent’ update replacing it with printed – they are deliberately obfuscating the timescales around delivery to give themselves maximum wiggle room!

Also stuck on approved but called HMPO this morning and they confirmed its printed so I should contact TNT. TNT have no trace on their system so assumption is it hasn’t been picked up yet. Approved on 17 March but TNT have said to all for 7 days.

Your assumption is correct, it appears TNT collecting it is what triggers the printed update. I suspect they have a finite capacity in their system per day and as more and more are printed they get stacked up and the delay after approval is in fact TNT not being able to do the job they got contracted to do in a reasonable time frame! No doubt another example of the cheapest bid getting the contract!

My TNT tracking updated not long after it went to printed, originally showing 23/3 for delivery it’s now showing 22/3 for delivery – so hopefully tomorrow is the big day!!

Do you receive email and text notifications when the passport has been printed and dispatched? Or just a case of checking the application tracking website to see the updates?

I registered for text updates – I got a text when it was printed. They’ve changed the status to just printed now, not printed and sent, with the words ‘it will be passed to our delivery partner in a few days’ – mine changed to printed today, and TNT are saying delivery Wednesday.

After being approved on the 17th, my passport has moved to printed earlier today.

Next step – TNT! Shows as due to be delivered on 23rd.

ETA: if you use your PEX number in their tracking, it will show you the TNT ref number.

Mine when to printed today after 9 days, due for delivery Wednesday too.

Finally an update to printed – timeline so far – notice the long delay between approval and printed – so if you’re desperate don’t assume an approval means it’s a day or two away from being in your hands.

    Passport printed 1:33pm on 21 March 2022
    Application approved 2:11pm on 13 March 2022
    Documents received 9:04am on 5 March 2022
    Application received 8:30pm on 21 February 2022
Identity details received 7:59pm on 21 February 2022
Email sent to person confirming your identity 7:35pm on 21 February 2022
Ask someone to confirm your identity 7:32pm on 21 February 2022
    Application submitted 7:32pm on 21 February 2022

Thank you for that info!it seems hmpo is half the battle I’m just hoping tnt doesn’t mess me around. I really hope you get your update today. It’s so stressful!!

Especially coming off the back of a 4 month similar drama with the DVLA! I had assumed the HMPO would be a complete shambles like the DVLA so I actually put off putting the application in until the DVLA was resolved as I really couldn’t even contemplate battling two government depts, which were meltdown at the same time!!

Excellent news! Sadly no nothing yet, and you were approved a day after me! Hopefully the update is coming later today. I’ll let you know.

You don’t have to wait for TNT tracking info – you can track it on the TNT website with your PEX number and postcode.

I think we have a similar timeline and problems I’ve been stuck on approval since the 14th.

Yes we do – mine was approved and sent to printing on the 13th (I gathered that much from a previous call) so I agree it’s probably sat in a cage wating for TNT to collect it – yet on other forums people are posting timelines of approval after us, and they have the passport in hand – which makes me wonder have TNT lost a batch? Not being able to talk to someone in a timely manner is really frustrating – I know it’s days for a call back but I’ll call back later this afternoon see if by chance I get one of the few helpful people!!! Will update if there is any news.

So finally got through and the person didn’t even attempt to answer or help just put me through to another department where I got the high volumes computer voice and to request a call back press 1 so it seems they are just batting off enquiries now onto call backs – complete shambles and completely unacceptable
