djbdaneParticipant
usually its Print and sent.
Someone on the Liverpool thread just commented on this – they do appear to have changed this to Printed – so that clears it up then – the delay is TNT
djbdaneParticipantMy concern I have never seen this status like this before ( Printed ) because usually its Print and sent.
I guess there will be some time before having that passport in my hands. Also keep an eye on the TNT tracking site, you don’t have to wait for a TNT tracking reference you can use your PEX number and post code – PEX number goes in application reference field
djbdaneParticipantI’ve just received notification of printing this morning so hopefully it won’t be too long for you both 🙂 will keep you updated
That’s great news – so you were approved on the 12th so hopefully and update for me today, more likely tomorrow I imagine. I’ll update any news.
djbdaneParticipantWe’ve also been at approval stage sine 14th March 7:30am. No further updates…
Oh well fingers crossed everyone – update if you have any news to give others hope!
djbdaneParticipantPlease guys keep us informed if there is any updates. thank you so much
Will do – as of this morning 1 week after approval it’s still stuck at approved.
djbdaneParticipantHi mine is too since March 16 1pm. How long has yours been?
Is there any one here got his application stacked at approval status please ?
Me too, since the 13th March – I’ve phoned them twice and been told different things, delays, huge demand etc etc – but on both occasions they did confirm it was sent for printing on the 13th. The last call the lady called it a ‘grey area’ between when it’s printed and when it’s picked up – so I suspect the delay here is TNT hasn’t the capacity to cope and is limited to collecting a certain number at a time – I believe from my calls that when they pick it up this triggers the printed and sent update, which makes sense.
I did ask why on some forums people with approvals after mine have their passports in hand, I was told it depends where they are printed etc etc. I’ve been told if I haven’t heard by early next week to call back.

djbdaneParticipantCan someone advise if it’s worth calling the passport office once passport has been approved? Need my passport for 6 days time but not sure if there’s anything they can do once it’s been in the process of being printed
I’m in a similar situation approved on the 13th March, as of today still stuck at approved – and I don’t think there is much that can be done – I’ve called them a couple of times and basically been told once it’s approved it’s transferred to the printing facility, as mine was on the 13th (but may have been Monday due to weekend she wasn’t sure) today the lady described a ‘grey zone’ between approval and the final printed and sent update, I got the impression that once TNT scan or collect the passport this then triggers the printed and sent update. I get the impression the delay after approval is TNT not down to printing delays. I get the impression reading between the lines on other peoples posts that maybe TNT only collect enough that their system can cope with leading to a further delay once it’s printed – I’ve got a feeling mine is printed and sitting in a box waiting to be collected. Quite frankly it’s not good enough a courier like FedEx (TNT owners) bidding for a contract like this know the numbers involved and should have infrastructure in place to ensure they meet their commitments.
djbdaneParticipantHow long are people waiting to hear of TNT after receiving an email from the passport office saying sent
You can check tracking yourself
Google TNT passport delivery, visit the page click Track and enter your postcode and your PEX application number in the application reference field
djbdaneParticipantbut then said that it can now be up to a week before the passport is collected
From what I’ve been told this event triggers the printed and sent update on the application – so maybe TNT can only process so many at a time and only collect so many at a time, as I can’t see TNT not collecting daily so maybe they are printed but sitting there until they are collected by TNT.
djbdaneParticipantSo another slightly different version of events from HMPO – elsewhere on this forum there are approvals after the 12/13th that are in people’s hands – so I suppose we really do just have to wait until HMPO/TNT decide to get their act in gear and grace us with our passports!! I suppose each day that passes is a day nearer the glorious day!
djbdaneParticipantHi same here, mine approved on 12th March 05:50 am and since then no update
I imagine the weak link here is TNT getting them on their system – the passport printing facility is an automated process, from looking at a video online I am sure it’s not the delay here, it’s capable of printing huge numbers of passports. So I imagine the scanning of the printed passports onto the TNT system is taking the time – this seems to generate the ‘printed and sent’ update on the application. TNT have a track record of poor performance with HMPO deliveries – looks like nothings changed, and quite frankly it’s not good enough – passports aren’t cheap!
djbdaneParticipantStill no update this morning so rang them again, spoke to a really nice person Zoe who confirmed it was sent to printing, but because my application was approved on a Sunday this probably didn’t happen until Monday, and there is a delay due to demand – so she said I should hopefully get the text today or Monday – and if I haven’t heard by early next week to call again – the printed and sent text apparently is sent when TNT actually have the passport.
I did ask why on forums some applications have been approved after me, and have been printed – she didn’t really have an answer saying it depends where it’s printed, demand and how efficiently TNT process them etc etc, so I suspect TNT inject a level of delay into this process too.
So sitting waiting for the beep on the phone!!
djbdaneParticipantDid you get an update saying yours was being processed? If so, what date did they update it?
There seems to be two routes through the system – the ‘digital’ route where you go from docs received to approved or the manual route where you go from docs received to processing. Reading some documents I found online if they can verify everything digitally there is no need for a manual intervention, the digital route does seem to be the quicker, 20 days in my case – but now it seems delays are creeping into printing – mine was approved Sunday and still hasn’t been printed and sent. IK89 it will be interesting when you get your printed and sent update.
djbdaneParticipantThe lottery extends to printing, sending and delivering to apparently.
It really does seem like a lottery doesn’t it? No pattern to it – just luck of the draw it seems.
I can’t workout why an application approved a day after mine has arrived yet mine is stuck at the approved stage – clearly they aren’t processing these in order they receive the work.I was really chuffed I reached approved in 20 days, so I suppose I have to serve my penance in approved limbo now!
