Applied for our child’s first passport and due to fly out on 17th August. Emailed local MP and have called HMPO on several occasions to attempt expediting to no avail. Understand the pressures and unprecedented period but there should really be additional contingencies for situations where people lose significant amounts of money as they have holidays/flights pre-booked. Our mistake was not applying for the passport sooner (totally put our hands up here) but had been misled by a colleague who’d stated our newborn could fly using our passports.
