Thought I would share here that my original application was to the bootle office but after 10 weeks of waiting out of the blue I was contacted by the Belfast office to send in addition documents. So offices could change.
I’m not sure how in this day and age that it could be possible that someone waits for a passport for 3 months (that’s 1/4 of a year) and if this ever happens in any other developed countries. I was about to see my GP for depression just from the stress this is giving me!
fuliciousParticipantHi Robi
I was in a similar position as you, just got mine approved (I submitted my application 24/3/22)
There’s no clear guideline as to when this ‘10week’ clock start – possibly intentional so no one can really complain of delays.
I ended up asking my MP for support as I was getting absolutely no where with the passport office. Whether that has anything to do with my application going through after nearly 3 months since applying we will never know but worth trying!
Good luck – I will now wait for mine to be printed and delivered- probably another few weeks wait.
fuliciousParticipantAnyone else got any tips for getting in touch? I am currently on hold waiting to speaking to someone since 8am (2 hours 11 mins counting). I don’t think I will ever get to anyone – I have tried web chats but never able to get through I have also tried complaint forms just gets ignored. I have contacted my MP but again no reply. First time of my life I am feeling so helpless.
fuliciousParticipantWould love to have those emails if you could share them?
I’m trying to go via my MP now after failing to get in touch with anyone
fuliciousParticipantI applied for mine 24/3/22 and currently still waiting ( at the time the advertised max wait was 6 weeks and has now passed).
The passport office receiving your docs doesn’t mean they have scanned it in the system, for me this took 3 weeks from them receiving to scanning it in. So massive time wasted there.
I am about to approach my MP regarding this as I need my proof to work for a job interview soon and all means of communication with the passport office has not been successful. Not sure if this is helping you or not

fuliciousParticipantHoping for some advice!
I desperately need some form of identification for a job interview but as I have submitted my application and documents since 24/3/22 I am stuck! I have no proof to work physically at the moment as i stupidly followed the rules (turns out you really shouldn’t stick to the rules as our PM has demonstrated) and destroyed my Biometric after receiving my naturalisation certificate!
When I applied in March the waiting time was 6 weeks – I’m 6 weeks tomorrow and still ‘being progressed’. Tried to call but of course cannot get anywhere. They never reply to my online enquiries. Should I contact my MP and anyone has any experience in this?
