I have had another automated email from the Belfast upgrade team as I have sent an appeal to them as the first automated email from Saturday confirms that I met the criteria for an upgrade at the time. I have sent screenshots of both emails and am keeping fingers crossed that this works as they’ve clearly moved the goalposts after my request went in.
graddersParticipantI’ve no idea I’m afraid, they didn’t specify. I’m sick of the whole process just being so vague.
graddersParticipant27 April, so although it’s close it’s not close enough for me to have my passport before my flight.
graddersParticipantI’ve just had the email from the Belfast Upgrade Team to advise that because it’s less than 6 weeks since I applied, that I cannot upgrade so I am going to miss my flight. I’m heartbroken. The 6 weeks rule was not pointed out to me last Friday when I was given the email address.
graddersParticipantThis is the email that the person received:
Dear Customer,
We have reviewed the information you sent us. As
you have not included any evidence to show you
need a passport in the next 2 weeks and/or your
application was not submitted at least 6 weeks ago,
we are unable to upgrade your application.
Your application will continue to be processed using
our standard service. If you have evidence to show
you need a passport in the next 2 weeks and you
submitted your application at least 6 weeks ago, you
should send us this now.
If your circumstances change, you should submit a
new request by calling the Adviceline on 0300 222
0000. The Adviceline is available from 08:00am to
6:00pm Monday to Friday, and 09:00am to 5:30pm
weekends and public holidays (UK time). We can
only consider upgrade applications when
evidence shows a need for a passport in the next
2 weeks and the application was submitted at
least 6 weeks ago.
You can track your application at

My anxiety is going into overdrive!!
graddersParticipantI was cheeky and went through the ‘speak to a welsh agent’ route out of sheer desperation and got through more or less straight away…
graddersParticipantHave you contacted them to give them your reference number you were given when you reported your passport as lost? Mine didn’t pull through from the application so when I rang them they said that is more than likely the reason why it went to processing instead of all being straight forward and automated.
graddersParticipantThis is my timeline…
Application history
StatusDate
Application being processed 3:35pm on 3 May 2022
Identity details received 5:22pm on 27 April 2022
Email sent to person confirming your identity 5:15pm on 27 April 2022
Ask someone to confirm your identity 5:02pm on 27 April 2022
Application submitted 5:02pm on 27 April 2022I suffer from anxiety so badly, my nerves are shot to pieces!
graddersParticipantI’ve read in another thread that it could be that the lost passport reference number didn’t pull through from the application so I am going to call them today to see that is the case, then I can update them with it – fingers crossed I get through!
