If you call them they will say 10 weeks from the day your doccuments was received. You should be able to upgrade your application from 6 weeks at a cost though and free over 10 weeks if your travelling in 2 weeks or less.
I spoke to an adviser on the chat this morning that said any one who has been waiting longer then 10 weeks should be eligible to escalate there application and to speak to the help line to do that. 3 advisers later and still a lot of confusion no one can quite work out how to do that on the system 😂

Yeah overseas applications are longer processing time. I believe the waiting time doesn’t start till doccuments are received. (They won’t tell you that bit till you have exceeded the waiting time you was told initially)
My is a uk adult renewal but with a surname change approaching 11 weeks now 9 weeks processing.

I am the same week 10, 8 weeks processing and just no help at all. Only advice they give me is allow them more time. I travel in 4 weeks so 2 more weeks before I can upgrade. Lindsay11uk how long was you waiting before yours was processed? What has happened to you is exactly what I am worried about 😭

Does anyone know if we can do anything when it’s got to 10 weeks of doccuments been received? I am sure they told my sister that they could try investigate if it got to that point, then hers was processed 9 weeks and 5 days after doccuments received.
My 10 weeks will be 16 days before flying don’t know if it’s even worth a call just to be told wait till 14 days before?

Is this 10 weeks from application or documents received? I have been told it’s 10 weeks from documents received. My sister in laws was 9 weeks 5 days from documents received, 13 weeks in total. I am 10 weeks from documents received 2 weeks before we are due to travel so doesn’t really change anything for me unless it comes before then.

So I spoke to someone from the processing team yesterday which basically said that because it’s a name change it will take longer (don’t mention that when you apply but there you go)
Said to help my application along I could send in another document with my married name on it to help assist the application or basically call back 2 weeks before we fly to be fast tracked.
Such a stress situation. My sister in laws took almost 13 weeks to process then a week to be delivered 😭

Think we are in the same boat, no call from progress team as of yet. Giving it till the end of next week now and if not driving to the office on the Saturday. Not ideal because it’s nearly 3 hours away but it’s my only day off between now and travelling and it’s causing unnecessary stress. All I want is an update ???

I am awaiting a call from the progress team fingers crossed. Just seems a very unfair process, I know I can upgrade nearer the time of my travel but why should I have to be chasing it. Any way rant over fly in 5 weeks fingers crossed will be sorted 🤞

Although your points are valid, a trip to the passport office isn’t easy for everyone. Mine nearest one is 3hours away. I applied for my passport in good time for travelling and 10 weeks later nothing. My only options at the minute is to call. Seems to me some people have been pushed to the back of the que, we have all paid the same amount of money for the same service. Should be offered as a first come first serve basis. Any way glad you got yours sorted and makes me a bit more relaxed knowing that I can go down that route in the next few weeks if I can’t get it sorted before then.

When you ring go to option 8 I believe then option 3.
I have emailed, rang and now just got in touch with my local Mp that has also emailed.
Will let you know if I get any where, I am due to travel in 5 weeks and really don’t want the stress of chasing it up. I applied in good time makes me so frustrated to see other people getting there’s in a matter of weeks.

It’s an adult renewal but has a name change due to marriage. Wish I had just kept my maiden name now. So frustrating, think your ok aslong as doesn’t go into processing status. My sister in law was waited 14 weeks for hers 😭
