call back ASAP and ask for collection then go to nearest HMPO and collect it

call ASAP because once a passport has been sent for delivery i’m pretty sure they don’t allow collection, since that means they will have to print 2 copies

my documents was in the belfast team but closest was victoria, i knew i couldn’t travel to belfast so i had to settle for victoria and hoped something happened

the lady told me i had to wait longer to receive a call since there was discrepency between my doc location (belfast) basically belfast team had to look and agree for victoria to do anything

waited over 4 houts for the belfast team to give the go ahead and then received my passport a day later

so i say ideally go where document is located but you are still able to receive passport from any HMPO even if doc is different

1, did you get an automatic response email from the upgrade team stating they received it?

2. it would be best if they come with you but worst case scenario write a letter that clearly states that your wife etc has given permission to collect passport

3. if you still haven’t received passport and it’s within 48hours of travel go to HMPO and they can ‘speed it up

i would suggest going on friday and then saturday

this is because all HMPO’s are closed on sunday thus if you are travelling on monday once you hit friday according to HMPO you hit the 48hour window, bring flight evidence

i’m also telling you to go on friday early because sometimes some passports take a day to print so if you go on friday you have a higher chance of getting a passport on saturday (in time)

PS: i did the same thing last week and it worked
went on ; friday
told me i couldn’t collect till sat, so collected on sat

flew out on sunday

also, was your passport application by post or online?

you might get turnt away because they may not deem it as urgent and the HMPO is swamped with work so the only deal with the urgentest for example when i was in the que on friday a lady talked about how she got turnt away on thursday and come on the next day so that she would come under the 48hour mark, she came back on friday when she was within her sunday 48hour of travel and i think she got passport

maybe try going earlier and explain why you need it earlier and it may be classed as urgent

good luck i know it’s extremely stressful make sure you follow the steps correctly a lot of ppl get turnt away at the door after waiting 5-6hours and go away crying

what i’m saying is if you go today and monday you have a greater chance of getting ur passport since ur 48hours before

yes TURN UP AT THE 2nd they are closed on sunday so you would be classed according to them at 48hours before,

go asap because ppl que way before the opening times i got seen only 4-5hours after i was in a que and i arrived at 7:15 and it opens at 7:45

please don’t miss this chance go today, if it doesn’t work go on monday this increases ur chances greatly

also bring all evidence flight travel evidence, ID etc

yes if you don’t here anything by the 6th, on the 7th (48hours before) you MUST turn up at the HMPO make sure to arrive at around 6:45-7:00 even if the HMPO opens at 7:45 ppl que earlier
