I only found out about it when I had 7 days to go! But yes you have to be within 2 weeks of travel for them to consider it.
I was due to travel tomorrow 20th.
They contacted me on 16th asking for the document of travel to be attached – I had only given them a screen shot. I sent it to them within an hour.
On the 17th I hadn’t heard back so I rearranged my holiday to 6 weeks time (this was the last date I could make any changes).
On the 18th they rang to say the passport was ready and could be picked up!!! Gutted!! But I just couldn’t risk loosing out on the holiday!!
So they came through in the end for me!!hr22ParticipantPaige I don’t know for sure but given how the other area teams emails are Newports upgrade email will be :

You will get an automated email response so you’ll know it’s the right one. I believe they are dealing with people who have a travel date within 14 days.
Put your date of travel in the subject line and make sure you attach a document with proof of travel date. A screenshot of travel details will not be accepted.
Put your PEX reference in the body of the text and again state when you travel and when you need it. Where you can pick it up from etc etc and contact number.
They are processing requests by date of travel and seem to be getting to people 48 hours before flying.
I didn’t wait to be told to email them I just did it myself

I attached the travel voucher pdf and hotel summary voucher pdf had from jet 2. They had the date of travel and flight numbers etc on them with the official booking reference etc on it.
Good luck x xhr22ParticipantBrentmeister2k I also called the progress team 0300 105 0850 to ask them to put the lost passport reference number on the comments. I also added it in the email I sent to the upgrade team.
We had a travel date on 20th – my first contact via email from upgrade team (Peterborough) was on Monday 16th. If I had attached the travel document rather than screenshot it I would have had the passport processed that day. I sent the info required on the 16th. Next heard from them on 18th via telephone to say it had been processed and was ready to collect (4 hours away!). The lady said she had been allocated our upgrade that morning (18th).
hr22ParticipantYes. Other than the email I got asking for more info, We didn’t get an email just a phone call which we missed they left a message with a number to call and said passport ready to pick up. We called and they answered quickly.

Don’t know if this is any use to people but May offer hope to those unable to rearrange holidays or willing to take the risk!!
Lost passport application on 3rd May
Date of travel 20th May
Emailed the upgrade team in liverpool on 11th May – closest office
Received an automated response
Phoned progress team direct (not customer services) on 13th (45 minute on hold) they added the lost passport reference to the comments and told me it had been sent to Peterborough office
Emailed Peterborough upgrade office on 13th May. Sent screen shot of travel confirmation and date of travel in the subject line. Automated response
16th May – email from Peterborough wanting evidence of travel date attached within 24 hours – emailed the travel confirmation document to them 10 minutes later
No response
17th May emailed upgrade team asking for response – no response
17th May – rearranged our holiday to July at a cost of £500 and 1.5 hours on hold – it was the last day we could make any changes and would have lost the whole holiday otherwise.
18th May – phone call – passport has been processed and is in Newport ( 4 hours away) for collection !!!! Spoke to a lovely lady who waved the charge and arranged for it to be posted to us instead since we had rearranged our travel date.So the upgrade service in the end came through for us and if I hadn’t have caved and rearranged the travel date I’d be heading off to Tenerife on Friday!!!
Make sure you attach you confirmation of travel document don’t just screenshot it they won’t accept it.
