I had a phone call from the progress team, at 12.45pm and by 3.11pm my son’s application was approved

I am told the same for mrs application. All checks complete just awaiting Quality Control. I have contacted them and they said to wait.

Just spoke to a lady on that number and she told the application is “Awaiting QC Checks” apparently that means examiner has done all the checks & application has progressed to final stage. Only need to be approved and sent for printing.

Same timeline as you @lk89. Documents received on 2nd March and no update since for mrs application.

Called hmpo, they said checks are complete just waiting for approval. Which office did you send your documents?

everyone is telling different stories. Called HMPO several time and each time new story.

1 person said application is being processed by Durham office and another one saying peterborough.

Also, application is awaiting to be examined and another one said is awaiting QC checks.

I called the same number this morning for mrs first passport. After waiting 40minutes call was answered. Guy mentioned Peterborough is processing her application even though documents sent to Liverpool. Her timeline:

First Passport after Naturalisation

Application Submitted: 16th Feb
Documents Received: 02nd March

Also, he didnt directly say but looks like there are delays in processing for Peterborough

diz17 – there are some exceptions like below:

UK and overseas customers we will not interview
We must try to recognise customers who are exempt from attending an interview before inviting them to make an appointment.

If we have enough information from identity checks, we will not interview an adult customer applying for their first British passport when they:

are 70 years old or over unless there are any fraud concerns
were naturalised within the last 12 months and UK Visa and Immigration service’s records confirm the customer’s photo identity and personal details (unless there have been changes to their name since they were naturalised)
are members of HM Armed Forces applying for their first British passport
are dependants of members of HM Armed Forces and can be verified from Home Office records
are members or dependants of members of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and they are also applying for a Diplomatic or Official passport

i called today and was told same for my mrs application. Online tracking shows documents received on 2nd march and they said its with examiner since 3rd march. Her application went to liverpool and mine to bootle. I received my passport yesterday.

Just had a callback from a lovely lady at HMPO. She couldn’t tell much about mrs first passport application, just that it is awaiting for examiner to pick up. We travel on 14th April so still have some time.

lk89 – Do you have to attend an interview? i saw someone on this forum was requested to attend interview for their first passport.

lk89 – sent mrs application for first passport on 16th Feb and documents received (HMPO) 2nd March. Just spoke to passport adviceline and they said to wait for 2-3 weeks.

Applied for Mrs First Passport as well, that is stuck on Document Received since 2nd March. Need to travel on 14th April.
