Hi Guy!
I got emails once their system showed that they had received my documents, when it was approved and then printed. I sent my documents on 26th Feb and they were received per the Royal Mail tracking on 1st March but the system didn’t update them as being received until 9th March. I had an email on 19th March to say that my passport had been printed but only received TNT tracking this morning and was delivered the same day. Hope that helps! It does seem to be a very random and variable process, I hope you get yours sorted soon
Mine has also just arrived after 25 days!
Timeline was as follows:
Passport printed 10:14am on 19 March 2022
Application approved 2:46pm on 12 March 2022
Documents received 5:19pm on 9 March 2022
Application received 6:48pm on 25 February 2022
Application submitted 6:47pm on 25 February 2022@amy93 I did read somewhere that Royal Mail are having to step in to deliver some in order to clear the backlog, so it could be your new passport!
Mine was printed on 19th and tracking has been updated today! It’s due to be delivered tomorrow, will let you all know once I actually receive it x

I just got off the phone to them again – they said they had seen some passports being printed that were approved on the 12th today so shouldn’t be too much longer. They confirmed that they do print over the weekend but then said that it can now be up to a week before the passport is collected following printing. Delivery can then take up to two days after the passports have been collected
@bgm00 They couldn’t tell me anything other than that my passport was waiting to be printed and that it can take up to a week to be printed following approval at the moment! I’m unsure whether they count the weekend or not – I know they do work weekends as my passport was approved on a Saturday
I just got off the phone to them now – they said they are really busy and so printing is now taking up to 1 week! They said delivery should be 5 days after printing but could come sooner. So hopefully it won’t be too much longer for either of us – will let you know once mine is printed
My passport was approved on the 12th but still hasn’t been printed. I just got off the phone to HMPO and they advised that after approval, printing is now taking up to 1 week (was previously told 1 working day). They said that it can then take up to 5 working days to be delivered
Mine was approved on the 12th but still on approved too! Going to try and call them for an update as I have heard that passports should be printed 1 working day after approval
Ok great thank you jespop30. I sent my old passport on the 26th Feb and it was received by them by 1st March per the royal mail tracking. So took 8 days for it to appear on the system

Application submitted 6:47pm on 25 February 2022Looks like they skipped the processing stage altogether – I did give them a ring last week and they stated that it was a very straightforward application (renewal, no name changes or anything) so maybe this could be why?
Can anyone advise how long it usually takes to receive the passport once it has been approved?
Does anyone know if you get sent an email notification each time the status changes? Not sure whether I’m wasting my time checking the tracker! I received an email to say they had received my documents yesterday
