When I ring passport office tomorrow, as lady on the phoned advised me too, will see what they say. Will also be telling them how unimpressed I am, as every week for the past few weeks I have asked about fast tracking the application and every time I have been told, I don’t need to as it will be here within plenty of time, well we are suppose to fly in just over 14 days and I am no closer to recieving it.
March 20, 2022 at 6:41 pm in reply to: PANICKING – HELP! First time Child Passport (within UK) #10165jespop30ParticipantAmirun87 – I have an alert on my son’s application too, as it’s been over 10 weeks.
jespop30ParticipantNope, woman I spoke with last week has flagged it as she says it’s been 10 weeks, so fingers crossed I hear soon, but just looking at options incase it doesn’t arrive just yet.
jespop30ParticipantHow do you know we won’t need to proved proof? Surely they would want to see if we actually had COVID.
jespop30ParticipantDjbdane – I have no idea, someone said they didn’t require proof but I can’t see them amending fee free without proof. Maybe just a positive lft, as you no longer need to follow up with a PCR test now.
jespop30ParticipantAmy93 – the only way to change it this close if one of us got COVID. She did say as it’s hit 10 weeks, they will be able to speed it up, so we will see. Thanks hunni x
jespop30ParticipantSpoke to tui, and anything under 28 days comes with a cancellation fee, and as in due to fly in less than 15 days, means I would lose 100%. I spoke to the advise line, couldn’t wait till tomorrow. She has put an urgent call back for the progress team, and she hopes they ring today, but if not she wants me to ring back tomorrow, and wants me to speak to the customer management team. She said it looks like they are waiting for something. I said my marriage certificate, which is already in the office. She asked if I had heard from them and I said no, and she said I should have heard something from them. Just have no hope anymore.
jespop30ParticipantEven If they approve it, I don’t know if it will even reach here in time, with the various times it’s taking to print and then be delivered. Some people are recieving there’s within a week of being approved while others are taking longer. I am seriously thinking of changing it, if I can. Means I would have to take kids out of school for a week, but really isn’t my fault, as I put the application in with plenty of time, not my fault it’s taking 10+ weeks.
jespop30ParticipantAmy93- thanks hunni. See I’m not sure if others will chase it up, as not many of them count from when it is submitted, most count when application is recieved, but if she put an alert on it, maybe they will chase it. It’s so frustrating, I sent my marriage certificate in after the birth certificate, and I don’t even know if they log extra documents, as some people have said they don’t, so I won’t know it’s been put onto the system.
jespop30ParticipantSarah88 – My son’s has been in examination since the 11th March, they keep telling me only a matter of time till I hear but losing faith. We fly on the 4th April. The woman has flagged mine as it’s been 10 weeks since I submitted, but I have seen kids first passports be approved pretty quick. This is doing my head in as my daughters first went from documents received to application approved in 6 days, also the renewals I have done were all back in my hand within 3 weeks, but this one is taking ages for no reason. Passport applications should not be taking this long seriously.

First time Child Passport (within UK) #10110jespop30ParticipantMy son’s first passport was submitted on the 8th January, but didn’t receive till 27th January. Lady I spoke to yesterday has alerted it as said it’s 10 weeks since I submitted, hopefully I hear back soon. Think she alerted it as I need it as we travel on the 4th April, so she said she will alert it and then the examiner can do something. It’s been in examination since 11th March.
jespop30ParticipantAmy93 – we fly on the 4th. People keep saying I have time, but running out of hope. I’m not sure how it will speed things up, probably should have asked that lol.
jespop30ParticipantAmy93 – Nothing yet, but I rang yesterday and asked for a note to be put on the system asking if I could have my marriage certificate back asap as I need it, and while I was on the phone, I asked about fast tracking the application. So the lady had a look at the process of it and said it’s in examination so shouldn’t be much longer, then she counted from when I submitted the application, which is 10 weeks today, and not from when they received it, think she did it to speed things up, and she has put an alert on it, saying it’s been 10 weeks, and flagged it to an examiner, as I should have recieved it by now. She did say if she didn’t think I would receive it, she would discuss other options with me, but she’s confident that it’s in examination so only a matter of time, and how she has flagged it up, shouldn’t be much longer. She told me to ring Monday evening or Tuesday if I haven’t had an update, as by flagging it up, means it will be done quicker.
So glad you’re has been approved, hopefully you aren’t waiting to long for the print and sent update.
jespop30ParticipantEmjade28 – I’m not sure what happens now she has flagged it as urgent. Hoping I hear something soon.
Feel like this holiday isn’t suppose to happen as my son’s first COVID vaccine wasn’t logged, so even though he’s had his second dose today, I can’t prove he is fully vaccinated.
Amy93 – have you heard anymore?
jespop30ParticipantEmjade28 – thank you. Yesterday I had some hope, today I feel like there is none, it wouldn’t bother me so much if they said they were waiting for something, buts it’s the no updates, that drives me crazy. Everyone says I still have time, and it will be fine, but we fly in 16 days and I am struggling to believe that, even though part of me says it will be fine.
