Emjade28 – when did your son’s passport go into processing? My son’s went into processing on the 16th February. The lady today has put an urgent note on it, but she doesn’t think it will be too long till I hear back.

Amy93 – I forgot to ask them to make a note as I need my marriage certificate back asap, due to 2 of my kids having my maiden name, so need to prove I am their mum. Rang the passport office which she has added the note to the application. Asked what the options are for the application, seems everyone counts differently, and she counts from when application is submitted, so has put an alert on my sons application. I was wondering if I could do fast check, but she said as it’s in examination it should be with me sooner than a fast track passport, and I should hear back soon, especially now she’s put an alert on the application.

Magnic – so pleased for you.

Amy93 – it’s a joke even more so as I applied when the timeline was 3 weeks turnaround. I still have 16/17 days so it may still arrive, but hope is fading fast.

Amy93 – it’s even more annoy because all the other I have done this year, came back within 3 weeks, and his had been processing for 30 days now.

Amy93 – I have my fingers crossed for you. No update yet, just that as it’s in examination it’s only a matter of time, which doesn’t help me really. It’s the no up dates for 4 weeks that is driving me insane.

My son’s first passport is still in examination, and has been for 6 days, didn’t think it took so long. Woman on phone said it is only a matter if time, but with our flight in 2.5 weeks, I am holding onto the last bit of hope that I have, and that bit of hope is fading fast.

LKT1990 – I rang last Wednesday and they were still awaiting examination, when I rang on Monday, the lady told me it had gone into in examination on the Friday. I am very impatiently waiting for an update, feels like I am always checking my phone.

I used a toddler mattress, with a white sheet, and one of them went from documents recieved to approved in 6 days and that was a child’s first passport. This whole waiting is driving me insane.

I wish I could move my holiday back, but it’s gone up by 3 grand, no way I could afford that just now.

Amy93 – it’s not right, we pay for these passports and we expect to get them, not to be talked to like that.

About time lauraf1991. Good luck with the complaint.

So I caved and rang the passport office, the number on this site we all ring apparently we are not suppose too as a rude gentlemen just told me and kept quizzing me how I got it, I just told him I had been ringing it on and off for 3-4 weeks and never had a problem. On the plus side my son’s passport application definitely went to the examiner on the 11th, just now waiting for an update that never seems to come.

Don’t think any are taking 10 weeks, fingers crossed.

I rang the office yesterday and now it’s in examination I am having to stop myself ringing, as least it’s one step closer to being done.
