I put my expired passport number down, one 2 kid renewals and 1 child’s first, even after my passport was approved and there were no issues, I would not worry.

If you are lucky, it will go straight to approved which I think is taking 7-10 days but if you are unlucky like several of us, it will go to application processing and that takes longers. My son’s application is in processing and been for almost 4 weeks but it did go into examination on Friday.

It’s taking 8 working days to upload documents onto the system, but I have heard that sometimes if they request extra documents it doesn’t always show up that they have recieved them, and that the application can go to approved without acknowledging the extra documents.

That’s the number I always call and they seem to know a bit more than the other number. My son’s went into examination on the 11th March, so hopefully I will hear soon, and fingers crossed they track down my marriage certificate in the office as the lady yesterday took the tracking number and apparently the examiner can request it is found.
The first four passports I have done arrived quickly but this one is taking weeks.

Lauraf1991 – About time! When was it printed and sent out?

Leahmca – my son’s first passport has been in processing for 27 days too, it has been in examination since Friday, so I am hoping I have an update soon.

I think they are working over night to try and get rid of the backlog that has been created. I have seen several people say they were approved at 1 and 4am.

Amy93 – not till 4th April thankfully, so guess I have time especially now it’s in examination. Be glad I won’t have to apply for any new passports for 5 years after this, so stressful.

Amy93 – I am the same, glad people are being approved and not having the wait we are but it is frustrating when they apply after us. No idea how long they are in examination for, hope it’s not too long though. When do you need your passport for?

Amy93 – I have been the same, the first 4 passports I did, I can’t fault them, all were back within 22 days, but this on will have been processing for 4 weeks on Thursday, but now it’s in examination I feel like it will be here before we fly on the 4th, but won’t let myself get excited till I have it in my hand, just in case.

Leahmca – I hope so, from what I have read it’s not really long in examination, and would be better if they do track down the documents. Hopefully I will hear this week. Fingers crossed you hear something soon.

Amy93 – how long has it been in processing?

Mine is stuck on processing, but just rang the passport office to ask if they could put a note that I have sent in my marriage certificate, which was already done and mine went into examination on the 11th March, it was awaiting examination when I last rang. The lady has also taken my tracking number for my documents as they can sometimes request them be found and scanned sooner so the application isn’t held up longer. Feeling more confident than I was about traveling on the 4th April and she said she’s confident too as once it’s been examined they don’t like to wait too long after you sent documents in to approve, so in a way you skip the 8 working days as the examiner had already examined and is just waiting for a document. Fingers crossed I hear soon.

Isabel – thank you, hopefully it will be scanned the end of this week.

JMS – that is daft, as others whose documents were delivered after yours have been scanned into the system, it was taking 8 working days, but people have had their documents scanned after 6 working days, so yours should have be done by now surely.

Lauraf1991 – how frustrating after all that time waiting for them to approve your passport in the first place.

Normally takes 2-3 days to print and send, and then 3-4 days to receive, but I have known it to be done sooner than that, I recieved my son’s renewal 2 days after it approved, so it just depends.

When did you send your documents to the passport office? I have sent an extra document incase they need it, so avoid any hold ups as need passport for 4th April, just trying to work out roughly went they may upload it
