JMS – it is stupid as it isn’t our fault it takes so long to upload the documents. They definitely need to make their system better.

Leahmca – it’s stupid, hopefully we hear something soon. Just read they count the time for processing passports from the day they start to process the application and not from when you submit or documents are recieved.

Warren1129 – that’s amazing news, so pleased for you. Has definitely given me some confidence, fingers crossed I hear this week.

Ringing them up doesn’t even help, they just say they will put a note on it for the examiner. I think they are doing more hours to try and clear the backlog they have now got, but they need to start going through the applications that we are waiting on, as surely it doesn’t take this long to go through the application.

I don’t mind if they even say they need to see my marriage certificate, it’s in their office waiting to be uploaded but it’s the not knowing that is stressing me out.

Amy93 – sending you a hug too. I am that stressed I am having a meeting with my manager tomorrow, as I usually don’t stress this bad so she just wants to make sure I am okay in person, won’t be telling her I almost cried after her message earlier I am that stressed. I have 3 days at work from tomorrow, so hopefully that will keep my mind busy.

Leahmca – my husband says the same actually all my family say the same, but I just can’t bring myself to pack or write lists either, just incase I have to unpack. I know in my head I do have enough time, but I have lost faith in the passport office

Lauraf1991 – some people haven’t been able to track till the morning their passport is out for delivery, will keep my fingers crossed for you that it arrives soon. My son’s passport is awaiting examination now so fingers crossed I have an update soon

I phoned, I find it much easier to talk to people over the phone as emails can take up to 72 hours, and I sent an email 2 weeks a go and still waiting for a response. I’m not sure how they count the weeks, if it’s from application recieved, documents recieved or when application is being processed, as everyone tells you different, but surely as we applied when the time was 3 weeks, you wouldn’t think we would still be waiting

Warren1129 – I feel the same, I have lost faith too. It’s really frustrating when people have applied after you, but are being approved before you.

Leahmca – it’s the whole not knowing, it would be much better if we had an update, but after nothing for 3 weeks, you start to get worried. Do you know where the passport is on the processing queue? Mine is apparently awaiting examination, so I am hoping that is close

Warren1129 – do you have travel coming up? I don’t get what takes them so long, all my other passports I’ve applied for, were back in my hand within 3 weeks and this passport was applied for at the same sort of time

I don’t know how you count working days, but I count from the day after they were signed for, which would make this your 8th working day.

When I sent my son’s birth certificate in, I rang at 5 as they hadn’t been logged, was going to wait a couple more days before ringing again, and then they logged them at 5.15 that night

Sounds like they are trying to clear the backlog, as I’ve noticed a few people now say documents were in logged 6-7 working days after Royal Mail delivered them. Fingers crossed.

It’s annoying as both my children’s renewals went through application is being processed, but they were only in that stage for 2-3 days before going to approved and now my son’s first passport is in application is being processed for 22 days now
