It’s not been approved yet, but application was received 27th January, Documents were sent couple days later. Royal delivered documents on 1st, Documents recieved 10th February, Application is being processed from 16th February, haven’t heard anything else, but hoping with it awaiting examination I hear something soon, I can’t take the stress anymore

@amy93, the lady on the phone said it is awaiting examination, and said I should hear back within the next couple of days, maybe a week at the latest. She said I still have plenty of time, but doesn’t stop me stressing.

Amy93 – I wish I had fast tracked my son’s first passport but at the time they were only taking 3 weeks, I applied for his first passport 6 weeks ago now. It is causing me too much stress, due to travel in 24 days

Just spoke to the passport office, my son’s application is awaiting examination, and she thinks it could be seen in the next couple of days, but definitely within a week, and that I did the right thing sending my marriage certificate now, as then if the examiner needs it he will put the application on hold until it’s recieved and then takes a couple days to approve

That’s a quick turnaround for them logging the documents, it has been taking them 8 working days, fingers crossed they are slowly getting on top of the backlog

Maybe as yours was approved late, it will be printed tomorrow.

It is taking 8 working days to be uploaded onto the system. And rayray777, I would be ringing as that seems an awfully long time for documents to be uploaded

Lauraf1991 – know what you mean. I’ve rang countless times and today is the first day someone told me that on the 10th February I was sent an email requesting my marriage certificate, which is strange as documents were logged at half 5 that afternoon, and application hadn’t gone into processing for another 6 days, so don’t believe that. Hopefully I hear more in the next 24 hours as the examiner has been emailed asking what is the hold up basically, oh and that was after I was told it wasn’t with an examiner yet, even though I’ve been told loads it is with an examiner. It’s more frustrating that they don’t all tell you the same thing. I can’t fault then for the other 4 passports I have done recently, but completely lost faith in them for this passport

I wouldn’t be so bothered if they can’t link my application and needed to see my marriage certificate, but would be nice for an update. 21 days in processing and counting.
Does it do anyone elses head in that you get told different things? One agent has said as my application has been approved they might not be able to link my application to my son’s, but then a few agents have said that the passport office keep the documents that are scanned into the system for a while even if I can’t access my application anymore

Lauraf1991- so glad it’s finally been approved even if you have sadly not been able to get your flights.

Pavillion 89- I applied for my son’s first passport on 27th January and I am still waiting, it’s been 6 weeks on Thursday, so people who have applied after me have got their passports back whether it’s a first child passport or a renewal, so will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Magnic – the lady I spoke to yesterday has emailed the examiner asking what the hold up is, so I’m hoping that means it with an examiner too

LKT1990 – I find it strange they needed a copy of your passport, as usually you put the passport number on their application. For the application to go to approved a couple days after they recieved the documents, bet you didn’t send them to Liverpool. When they asked for my marriage certificate before, the application was is Newport and they wanted me to send the documents to belfast
