Lauramaria23Participant
Is there a long wait on this number?
Lauramaria23ParticipantThis is very helpful thanks. My kids renewals are stuck at Durham right now but my closest office is Belfast. I am going to phone the advice line on Monday and try and upgrade. I am planning on visiting my local office on Tuesday because I do not trust the upgrade process at all. Do you think they will do anything for me 13-14 days before I fly? I only applied 4.5 weeks ago so this is not in my favour either.
I would probably have a better chance if my application was there but it’s not. I am so stressed and feel very anxious about it all. Keep talking myself out of going but not sure how much longer I can endure this stress.
How many days before your flight did you go to the passport office?
Lauramaria23ParticipantWas yours an online application? Did you send the email to the upgrade office 2 weeks before you were due to fly or earlier than this? I have been told mine are 2 simple child renewals, done through post office check and send.I need them by 3.5 weeks time. I did only apply 3 and a half weeks ago though.
Lauramaria23ParticipantIs there anyway to email the Durham office without going to upgrade department? I travel in 4 weeks but really cannot cope with being stressed out for another month. Don’t want to end up chasing a passport last minute. My only saving grace is fact I fly on a Tues afternoon and my hubby is off on the Monday so I might end up at my local passport office demanding my children’s passports
Lauramaria23ParticipantThat’s the Newport number. Does anyone have the Durham number?
Lauramaria23Participant2 kids renewals at Durham now. Received on 16th April. Hopefully approved soon but still awaiting an examiner.
Lauramaria23ParticipantDoes anyone have the direct phone line for Durham?
Lauramaria23ParticipantAnyone any further updates regarding Belfast office. I have one child renewal there. Hoping it approves quickly.
Lauramaria23ParticipantSeems to be pot luck when they approve these. My son’s child renewal is in Durham. It was a paper application and everything was received on 18th April so going back what everyone is saying it could be approved in a few days or I could still be waiting in 5 weeks!
Lauramaria23ParticipantGreat group thanks for sharing.
Lauramaria23ParticipantGoodness that is bad news. I have no idea what office mine has gone too. How did you track yours? I looked it up and said you can only ask after 3 weeks. I would love to see what stage mine is at. Seems to be hit and miss. Some people are lucky and get renewals after a few weeks whereas others get stuck in the system.
Good luck with the upgrade office, that’s a whole different level of stress altogether. I’m hoping I at least get one soon so only have to upgrade one.
Lauramaria23ParticipantI’m assuming no one else has done a paper renewal?
Lauramaria23ParticipantGreat to hear some positive news for a change. Really wish I had gone the online route now as opposed to paper renewals for my kids.
Lauramaria23ParticipantHoping I do not have to go down this route but at least it seems to work for most people. The stress is unreal though.
Lauramaria23ParticipantThat’s brilliant. Good Luck to everyone waiting on passports. Not sure how the government as not put more money into staffing for passport office to support increased demand!
