Finally my last 2 child renewals are being delivered tomorrow. 8 weeks after applying, 6 of those weeks in processing. I originally applied when the average time was 3 weeks!
This system is beyond flawed. I am left flabbergasted at how messy the whole thing is. How application times can vary so much. The stress, the sleepless nights and literal tears over the whole thing. So glad we’ve got 4 years before the next lot of renewals 🤦
Good luck to everyone waiting! Especially those with the dreaded ‘processing’ status.
Still waiting for a printed notification here for our last 2 applications. 4 and 5 days since approval. Now into the 8th week since application.
Wonder why they’re taking a while to print all of a sudden? 3 weeks til we go. They need to get a move on!
Our final child renewal has been approved!! They must have heard me talking about the cancellation process 😅
Never want to go through this amount of stress again. HMPO really need to make changes on how they do things.

Application submitted 10:43am on 5 February 2022If it’s taking up to 10 weeks, then I should be able to chase up and push my applications from 7/8 weeks considering the varied times that TNT are taking but of course, that’s not the case 🙄
amirun87 – how did you get them to put an alert on your application already? They told me there was nothing they could do to speed ours up and we’re now 7 weeks in.
jespop30 – that’s great news!! Gives me hope!! I’ve had 1 back at 3 days, 1 back at 9 days and 1 back at 10 days from approval. Hopefully yours will be one of the quicker ones x
I have just rang for an update on my 2 child renewals (applied Feb 5th and processing since Feb 16th). They are now in examination. How long is examination taking? Does anyone know? Or is it another lottery? I asked if she had any ideas, and she just repeated the 10 week thing which is no good as our 10 weeks fulls on Easter weekend 5 days before we are due to travel!!
I asked about cancelling and applying for a fast track and she said that’s taking 3-4 weeks 😳 I’ll ring again next Monday if we don’t hear anything and either start the cancellation process or try and stick it out. We travel 4 weeks Thursday. I can’t believe 2.5 months may not be enough time to get a passport!!
Passport that was approved Monday and printed yesterday, has arrived today. Passport that was approved Friday and printed Monday hasn’t arrived yet. The lottery extends to printing, sending and delivering to apparently.
No update on my other 2 yet. I’m going to ring tomorrow (30 days processing) and see where we are and if they’ve been allocated an examiner yet. Stressful!!
Jespop – when I phoned last wednesday, they hadn’t even been assigned to an examiner. I’m going to phone again Friday and see if there’s been any progress!
My youngest, we done with a professional. It was approved on their system. When I uploaded it, it got automatically refused! I’d already spent 2 weeks trying to get a photo of him and was running out of time. I sent the professional one with a note saying it was accepted by the system they use! And that was accepted.
No more updates here. Day 28 of processing for 2 child renewals. We travel 5 weeks today. I’m genuinely flabbergasted that their system is so messy! How can applications have such different timings.
Woke up to my other first child passport approval. That’s 5 weeks from application received and no processing stage. So that’s now 3/5 done. They’re really dragging this all out 🤦

amy93 – I have two stuck on processing since the 16th of Feb. When I rang last week they hadn’t even been allocated an examiner yet.
Lauraf1991 – my one done passport still isn’t here either. 9 days since approved and 7 days since printed and sent.
I’m really hoping for some sort of progress in any of the remaining 3 this week or I’ll be ringing again to find out what the hold up is. Especially with the ones stuck in processing.
Eek! I have an update! One of my child first passports has been approved! Applied Feb 15th, went to documents received on the 22nd and been like that since til today 🥳
Still has me wondering how they do it though when I’m still waiting on renewals done on Feb 5th 🤦
Positive thoughts though… 2 out of 5 are done.
