I was panicking over my child’s first passport as it seemed to sit unacknowledged for a while (It was signed for at Peterborough on the 4th March at 07.25), yet, it picked up the pace, and it arrived within the 5-week guideline. I wanted to share this in case it can benefit somebody or put someone’s angst at ease.

    Passport arrived 14:35pm on 6 April 2022
    TNT updated 16:00pm on 5 April 2022
    Passport printed 10:20am on 1 April 2022
    Application approved 4:00pm on 28 March 2022
    Documents received 7:20pm on 21 March 2022
    Application received 11:50am on 3 March 2022
Identity details received 11:50am on 3 March 2022
Email sent to person confirming your identity 4:40pm on 2 March 2022
Ask someone to confirm your identity 4:26pm on 2 March 2022
    Application submitted 4:26pm on 2 March 2022

I hope everybody gets their passports in time to enjoy their holidays. Best of luck to all.

    Hi,

    Hi,

That’s is the same timeline. It’s very frustrating. However,I spoke to a lovely representative who advised that they have an exceptionally high volume of documents being received at the moment and that their usual approx 8 working days to scan documents into the system, is now approx 14 working days.
Not ideal, but hopefully this will be the slowest part of the process. I’ve been told to call back if no update by Wednesday.
I will update my progress if and when I get any 🙂

Hi, did you get an update on your documents being received? My daughter’s birth certificate has been sitting in Peterborough since the 4th of March and has still not been scanned into their system. I am getting increasingly anxious that we will run out of time to receive her passport for our family holiday.

    Hi,

I sent my child’s first passport application to the Peterborough office on the 3rd of March, signed on the 4th of March. Still not updated to reflect that the documents have been received.

Not ideal, but hopefully this is of some help to others.
