Good luck to anyone waiting on passports! I actually can’t believe the situation we are in and the total disgrace that continues to be the passport office.
We were supposed going on a last family holiday with my mum who is dying of cancer and this is the last time she will be well enough to go.

Before sending in applications on the 2nd of Feb, I called up to get advice about if a normal application would come in time and the best way to send documents to make the application as seem less as possible. I was told as we needed a child first passport as well as adult renewal fast track wasn’t an option (this was factually incorrect information). I sent the documents for both passports in one envelope with a cover letter as requested.

The passport office are aware of our circumstances. Every time you ring up you get a totally different response, none of which ever come true!
We were told 5-7 days from approval to passport delivered. Mine and my daughters were finally approved the 29th March, we moved our flight date from the 2nd to 6th on this advice (already losing 3/4 days to make the final memories with my mum). Both passports were printed yesterday mine first thing and my daughters at lunchtime. Hers was available to track within and hour and is arriving today. Mine still can’t be tracked.

I have done everything in my power to sort this mess out, TNT are happy for us to pick up in depot when they receive mine. My MP has tried to contact the passport office on our behalf (they have a dedicated MP line) but even they can’t get through.

The passport office have single handedly robbed us of a chance to go on that final holiday together and they don’t even care because it’s been 9 weeks not 10! I would have happily payed for fast track but was told wrongly before applying that a) we wouldn’t be able to do that and b) they would be back within the 9 weeks

    Absolutely gutted 😞

I can now track hers for delivery tomorrow but not mine 🙈 anyone else had this?

Jessica2285 I applied for my daughters first passport and my renewal with a new change in the 2bd Feb. We went into processing on the 28th Feb and both got approved 29th March. Not yet been printed though. We were supposed to be flying the 2nd April but had to change it, was advised when it was approved that will be here for the 6th so we rearranged our holiday but still no passports and 3 days till we are supposed to be going!

Anyone recently been approved and printed/delivered who could advise on your timeline?

Adiiq, took 2 weeks for them to update mine to say received. I think some people have us longer as they sometimes move the applications to different offices depending on ‘workflow’. We are on our third office now.

Has anyone been approved 29th, I’m still waiting for printing and supposed to fly on 6th as I moved from 2nd having been told it will be here in time… currently not even printed!
    9 weeks and counting 🙁

Stressedmum01 rcgd fingers crossed for you both, would you mind updating when you have your passports? Mine was approved on the 29th, due to fly the 6th (after already postponing from the 1st). I applied on the 2nd Feb, such a nightmare!

Frustrated_1 you have an almost identical timeline to us we applied 2nd Feb, processing since the 28th. When I got through to the progress team yesterday they said it had been picked up by an examiner on Thursday afternoon, of course they said should be approved in the next day or two…they’ve been saying that for 2 weeks. We are supposed to fly 2nd April and can’t move it 👎🏻
AD_grams glad you can move yours, really don’t feel like we shouldnt have to though! I’m sure it was the same as when you applied, 4-5weeks…not 8 and counting 😡

Has anyone been told their passport is being examined and how long that might take??

Croftk it took 14 days for mine to show up as receiver after they were actually received. We applied the 2nd Feb and still no passports but some people seem to very quickly go from documents received to approved so you may be okay

I’m glad some people seem to be getting approved. Just don’t understand how people who have applied after me to same office for the same type of passports and had their documents in later than us have got theirs! Such a strange system.
My mum is terminally ill and this is the last time she is likely to be well enough for us all to go together on holiday and I really feel like myself and my daughter just aren’t going to be going.
When I applied it said 4 weeks for mine and 5 for my daughters, we had 9 weeks so I didn’t think fast track would be needed! What I would do now to be able to fast track 🙁

This is miserable we applied on the 2nd Feb and starting processing 28th feb (despite documents arriving the 10th) and no change.
Finally got a call from the progress team yesterday who added a note to say we are flying 1st of April but nothing has changed since!
Very quickly running out of time, don’t understand how there can be so much variation it was a simple adult renewal and child’s first!

    Hello,
We are supposed to be flying 2nd April. Have rung up so many times and had completely different responses each time! Our timeline is
    Application 2nd Feb
Documents received 24th Feb (actually arrived the 9th(
    Processing 28th Feb

It’s an adult renewal and a child’s first passport. Do you think I should just give up at this point? Seems other people in the thread applied after us and have theirs. Can’t get a straight answer as to why they are taking so long! Us this happened to anyone else? Also waiting on a call back from the progress team since Wednesday… nothing yet
