[New Passport Delivered] Mon 23rd May 2022
[DHL Tracking Documents] Thu 09th Jun 2022MaxNRGParticipant@Upsidedown 111 days is crazy, you need to call them and tell the agent that you need the new passport to renew a visa (my justification for an escalation) or some other important sounding reason.
MaxNRGParticipantHi @rayclark,
My timeline after approval was:
Application approved Text: Mon 16th May 2022
Passport printed and sent: Tue 17th May 2022
[DHL Tracking Text] : Thu 19th May 2022
[New passport received] : Mon 23rd May 2022Passport was collected by DHL on Wed 18th May 2022 and I got a text the day after with the tracking number/URL.
Good Luck.

No sign of my old passport which I do actually need back. Anyone got any idea how long documents/old passports are taking to be sent?
Good luck to all those waiting.
MaxNRGParticipantAdult Renewal sent from Overseas (Hong Kong). Shipping set to take 5 days for a total of 7 weeks, fingers crossed.
Am wondering since it’s relatively expensive to ship via air freight to HK, if my old passport will be included with the new one?

[New passport received] Estimated for Mon 23rd May 2022MaxNRGParticipant@xfxrxhx I strongly advise you to call or submit an online query for your application. With the volumes they are managing, individual requests are falling through the cracks.
FYI a day after approval (16th May) my passport has moved to printed and sent (17th May). Since I’m on the other side of the world I guess it could take a week to ship to Hong Kong. 44 days (3rd April) since I applied and 39 days (8th April) since they received my documents, home stretch I hope…
MaxNRGParticipantApplication has updated to ‘Approved’ today. Thankfully I appear to have avoided the dreaded ‘Processing’ state. Hoping this means I’ll get my passport within the 10 weeks, but I’ll only relax when it’s in my hands. I’m curious if my call on Friday prompted the next stage or if was going to happen anyway…
Application received 06:40 on Sun 3 April 2022 GMT+1
[Old passport sent] 12:26 on Mon 4th April 2022 GMT+8
[Old passport signed for] 10:41 on Fri 8th April 2022 GMT+1
Documents received 09:30 on Wed 27th April 2022 GMT+1
Application approved 10:12 on Mon 16th May 2022 GMT+1MaxNRGParticipantIf you ever need to talk to the “Customer Service Management Team” be aware that they are only available 08:00-20:00 Mon-Fri and 09:00-13:00 on Saturday (regular line is available 09:00-17:30 Sat-Sun). After being on hold for 48 minutes the ‘helpful’ customer service operative put me through to them (probably) knowing that at 15:00 on Saturday I would get punted back the regular customer service call queue. He could have just told me they were not available…
Anyway will try again on Monday.
MaxNRGParticipantYou are extremely lucky @thirshope. Happy for you but crying for myself and the others that have been waiting for 6-10+ weeks with limited feedback.
Read an article in the Independent just now that 1 in 70 applications are taking longer than 10 weeks which for the 1 million applications they are getting per month is about 14k requests that are stuck.
MaxNRGParticipantThanks for the info @kosong. Will let you know if I have any luck with the “Customer Service Management Team”…
Sorry to hear that you can’t travel with your new baby.
MaxNRGParticipantI just called 0300 2220000 chose Option 3 for current application and the Option 1 since I got a text that my documents were received.
After 25 minutes on hold I talked to a pleasant lady called Julie who checked with a supervisor and confirmed that as I was abroad and need my passport with some urgency to avoid having to leave the country that she would escalate to the ‘Management Group’. She did say that they were busy and that there was a chance I would be disconnected. I asked her to at least note down our conversation if I did need to call back.
After transfer I immediately got a message that they were too busy to take the call. I am now concerned that my application has stalled in abnormal way and so will try calling first thing tomorrow to talk to try and talk to this ‘Management Group’…
MaxNRGParticipantNo worries @the_passport_journey glad to hear that your application is progressing, we all want the same outcome!
I haven’t had any updates for just over two weeks since they acknowledged receipt of my documents 19 days after they were signed for (no processing or approved, just silence after 6 weeks). At this point I just want to know that I’ll get my passport within the 10 week estimate as I have a hard deadline of needing my passport at the latest within 3 months of my application date as I am living abroad and need a new passport to renew my work visa. My old passport was set to expire 4 months after I sent it for renewal which I thought was a reasonable amoint of buffer.
As someone noted on this thread recently there is no fast track option for those of us who are overseas. If I have to return to the UK with an emergency travel document due to not getting a replacement passport within 12 weeks of application I will be livid and out of pocket.
MaxNRGParticipant@the_passport_journey You are fortunate as your application has leapfrogged many submitted in March and earlier in April. Good for you and perhaps hope they can process requests, just annoying for those that are waiting (my passport was signed for 20 days before yours on April 8th and was logged as received on April 27th with no updates since…) One question did you get either a processing or approved status after your documents were signed for?
MaxNRGParticipantThanks for the update @JamesJ1992, you are indeed lucky. My documents were signed for two days after yours but no approval yet. All the best!
MaxNRGParticipantMine was signed for by B King on April 8th.
