Update that my application is now in ‘Documents received’ on 27th April when they were signed for on 8th April, 19 days ago. Timeline almost matching @ChaddyOwl so based on all the updates here I’m hoping for the next status to be Approved in the next 2-3 days and not In Progress…
MaxNRGParticipantI had the same experience getting a text to send my documents after they were already signed for by someone at Durham. I think it’s just some automated notification. I’m going to give it till a month after my documents were signed for (April 8th) then make some noise. I am abroad and need my passport by June otherwise I will have an issue!
MaxNRGParticipant@JamesJ1992 When were your documents sent and signed for by Durham HMPO? I applied on the 4th like you and my documents were signed for on the 8th (sent from overseas) so will be interesting to see if my timings are similar to yours. Please do post when you get updates on printing and dispatch.
Good Luck to us all!

Kind of dumb when it’s been 10 days since my documents were signed for at the Durham office. Will try to forget about this for the next couple of weeks.
MaxNRGParticipant@HongKon8888 am interested in your timeline (assuming you sent from HK) as I sent my passport from HK on April 4th, signed for in Durham April 8th. When was your passport signed for?
Hope you get your passport on the 19th!

Great to hear that your document receipt has been acknowledged. Like you I am applying for an adult renewal from overseas and it’s now been a week since my documents were signed for in Durham so I guess based on your experience I should expect to be waiting a few weeks before it gets picked off the pile and acknowledged…
Please update on your progress as I will be monitoring with interest!
My timeline below:
Application received 06:40 on Sun 3 April 2022
[Old passport sent] 12:26 on Mon 4th April 2022
[Old passport signed for] 10:41 on Fri 8th April 2022MaxNRGParticipantSo the moral of your experience @Noctule8 is to pray to go from ‘Documents received’ straight to ‘Application approved’ bypassing the dreaded ‘Processing’.
Glad to read that some passports are getting delivered!
MaxNRGParticipantGood luck getting it before your travel date, that was a big gap for them to start processing. Was there a delay in you sending the old passport or getting the ID approval needed for children’s passports?
BTW we ordered a 54 page (Jumbo) passport and got a new Blue/Black example.
MaxNRGParticipantAdult Renewal (Expiry date on old passport was September 6th).
Application received 7:36pm on Fri 24 July 2020
[Old passport sent] 11:46 on Sat 25th July 2020
[Old passport recieved] 07:01 Mon 27th July 2020
Documents received 11:52am on Wed 29 July 2020
Application approved 11:52am on Wed 29 July 2020
Passport printed & sent 1:41pm on Thu 30 July 2020
[New passport received] 07:04 on Mon 3rd August 2020Considering there were two Sundays in the timeline, they basically took a week to get the new passport out which is excellent.
Timeline above is so much faster than I anticipated. The application was submitted with an online photo link which I am convinced made the process faster. The site we used to get the corrected sized online link is below:
