    Hi all.

    First Child Passport

    Passport delivered: 13 April 2022
    Passport printed: 7:46am on 9 April 2022
    Application approved: 5:45pm on 4 April 2022
    Documents received: 9:38am on 25 March 2022
    Application received: 7:00pm on 8 March 2022
Identity details received: 6:59pm on 8 March 2022
Email sent to person confirming your identity: 8:58am on 7 March 2022
Ask someone to confirm your identity: 8:06am on 7 March 2022
    Application submitted: 8:06am on 7 March 2022

Not too bad in the end but it’s the not knowing that’s so painful. Posted through letterbox by TNT the day after it appeared on their system. No details received from them so had to search with PEX number on the link provided on the ‘passport printed’ email. Thought the fact photo was ‘fair’ would have put me in ‘processing’ stage but looks like I was one of the lucky ones jumping straight to approved.

    Good luck to you all.

Can anyone tell me if you get an email when your application is approved? Or do I have to keep logging in?

I’m wondering if the hold up I’m getting now is the fact I submitted a photo that was ‘fair’ so it hasn’t been automatically approved. My 1 year old’s head was slightly tilted – I was actually delighted we got a photo that good! All these things you wished you knew before applying, eh?

Whilst I agree it wouldn’t have made a difference time-wise, I didn’t know if my documents had definitely been received and weren’t lost in the post. I ordered another copy and almost sent that off to special delivery just to make sure one got there!

Your progress is looking good to receive that passport in time, I’m sure you’ll be fine. Good luck!

Documents sent by First Class post on 10th March, so assume received 11th. Documents marked as received on 25th March, therefore 13 working days to be received (I believe they work Saturdays too). Wish I’d gone special delivery but didn’t realise how bad it is there! Hope this puts someone’s mind at rest if you’re checking every day like me.

Also, probably not worth logging in to check, as they email you as soon as received. Save yourself the disappointment of seeing ‘SEND US YOUR DOCUMENTS’. They even had the cheek to remind me to send them yesterday…
