Thank you again SWM1982. Just to clarify, if passport was coming today I would have had a tnt text this morning? I haven’t had one.
Now I am wondering if it may be delivered tomorrow as there operating hours are to midday (I’ll be taking a huge gamble).
Can I ask about what time were the passports delivered please? If the passport doesn’t arrive until Monday I wonder what time it could potentially arrive?
Many thanksNicholadParticipantThank you SWM1982 – was that 2 working days? If mine was printed Thursday could there be a chance of receiving Saturday? Clutching at straws here 🙂
Did you receive a tracking notification from your couriers?
Thanks againNicholadParticipantWe fly Monday
My child’s first passport was stuck in documents received from 23rd March for 8 weeks! Wrote to my local MP on Monday 16th May, passport approved Wednesday, passport printed Thursday and I am now praying for a passport delivery notification.
Does anyone have any knowledge of delivery times after passport printed in situations like this (the Passport Office are moving their butts after MP intervention).
I’ve read some threads where people are lucky and receive their passport a day after printing.
Do the couriers work Saturdays?
We have the option to change holiday details with BA today latest – if I only knew passport was in post I would leave the holiday as is.
Please advise. Many thanksNicholadParticipantThank you Leesa160
By coincidence, I have just had a call back from the passport office. My passport was sent to printing yesterday. The gentleman I spoke to said that I cannot use the upgrade facility now as it is being printed (arghhhhhhhh). I am in another void now with my fingers crossed hoping the passport can be printed and sent and received in the next couple of days.
What hope do I have? Should I try upgrade team anyway. I was hoping to pick up the passport from Peterborough.
Many thanksNicholadParticipantThis is a great thread. My child’s first passport has now been approved (11 weeks later). We travel Monday 23rd so I was wondering how do I contact the upgrade team – I would love to be able to go to Peterborough and collect the printed passport. Yesterday I spent over an hour on phone to advice line and they didn’t answer.
Please advise on who to count. Many thanksMay 18, 2022 at 11:16 am in reply to: Overseas child’s first passport – documents mess in Durham. How can MP help? #15553NicholadParticipantSorry to read about your document problems. Similarly, I have been waiting 11 weeks for a child’s first passport. My delay is due to the passport office requesting an additional document then taking 6 weeks to acknowledge the document. In desperation, on Monday, I wrote an email to my local constituency MP and he took immediate action. He cannot guarantee that I will receive my passport in time to travel but today at 9am my passport status changed to ‘approved’. If you are overseas what MP could you contact – the constituency MP of your UK residence?
I explained my predicament and timeline and dates of travel and asked if, as my constituency MP, if they were able to contact the home office on my behalf as the home office is in charge of the passport office.
Hope this helps.NicholadParticipantIn my personal experience I sent a document to the Bootle office at the beginning of April and it was recorded as received on 27th April and has yet to be uploaded to the system for the assessor to check against my application. I phoned the advice line and was advised that the uploading / scanning of documents can take three further weeks – my three ‘further’ weeks are up tomorrow so it will be interesting to see if my document is on the system.
Hopefully your documents will be recorded in a shorter timeframe at Durham.NicholadParticipantAwful isn’t it – I feel your pain. Why up to 3 weeks to scan the documents onto the system. I wrote to my constituency MP yesterday (via email) and he replied and took action almost immediately. He has contacted the Home Office. This is our only hope although still haven’t heard from the passport office. Perhaps you could try contacting your local
MP too. -
