@adz93 – I was there Wednesday, I fly tomorrow… my application hadnt been 6 weeks quite it was 5 for a replacement passport as I lost mine … after a phone call as it was in Durham my application- Peterborough were able to print it for me whilst I was there , they help regardless if your travel date is soon , it’s whether you’ll have to pay the fee or not the 6 week mark I was told.
All I would say is if there is no issues with the application regardless of dates of applications made they were still helping people and they was walking away with passports… they were amazing and so helpful … if it gets to 72/48 hours before travel and still no news I would head there.
I just want to update ….. for anyone travelling very soon … I literally cannot praise Peterborough passport office enough !! They was amazing today , we travel Sunday which left today and Saturday to get it sorted with the bank holidays being closed.. my application had been with Durham for 6 weeks — however Peterborough was my nearest office , they were amazing… I was seen pretty quickly but in order of travel .. Then I had to wait for a call back from Durham to approve the upgrade which felt like the longest wait it was around 2 hours … however after the phone call they had it sent to be printed for me at Peterborough whilst waiting and I was able to walk away with it today at 4pm I’m home now and I’m absolutely overjoyed …. Instead of me losing £3500. I advise anyone close to travel dates go to your office …. I was losing hope but they pulled it out of the bag for me and I didn’t see anyone not get there passports today that were travelling very soon ! They did amazing !!!!
Owwwww I really hope you get a call and they sort it for you , what I don’t understand is I thought no matter what office they have access to the application and can see the documents ect to approve it … this is making me so on edge xx
Couldn’t get hold of Durham ? Is that to try and process the other one ?
Mine is with Durham 🙁 and we are suppose to be flying Sunday … did she say what happens if she couldn’t get hold of them or didn’t respond ?Any suggestions to anyone else like myself whose suppose to be travelling on Sunday And still not had a call … do I make the trip tomorrow as Thursday and Friday they are closed ? Or cut it fine till Saturday the day before we travel !! I can’t cope with this anymore
DurhamUpgradeTeam@hmpo.gov.uk that’s the one I’ve used , however have the processing team put through an upgrade as I’ve heard the email doesn’t mean anything without them requesting it there side.
I had a call back but they said the same as always I need to just wait for a call .. Let me know if you have any luck x
My friends been to one of the offices today and they said they was closed Thursday and Friday. She travels Monday we travel Sunday
Im exactly the same position as you I have been in tears .. the thought of us losing out on our holiday 🙁
We also fly Sunday … I’ve been waiting for the call back from upgrade too since last Monday , I’ve been told offferent that the upgrade team didn’t work the last bank holiday and won’t be working this one ! So unlikely I’ll hear from them 48hours before travel when there not working ! I don’t know what to believe any moreCould I ask which upgrade team you was waiting for to call you back that never did ? Atleast you managed to get it in the end
