We fly 28th May so hoping for the call back tomorrow, or at the very latest Friday.
FYI, I rang 0300 105 0850 this afternoon as suggested on a few posts here.
Was on hold for 1h 45 minutes before a man answered and was fairly grumpy and he really couldn’t work out how id got directly to him without speaking to someone else first!
It sounded like he had had a long day and wasn’t very helpful. He did manage to tell me that there was a note on the applications with the travel date but insisted that the service is not at all guaranteed… until the call is received and payment is taken.
Will keep my phone on loud all of tomorrow and if it gets to Friday 10am then I will drive to the office myself. Flying 6am Saturday!
Good luck!
PassThePortParticipantIve followed this forum for a few weeks now and my advice to everyone would be to not waste any time emailing the upgrade teams before 14 days prior to travel.
A phone call to find out where your application is, is a good idea so you are confident you are emailing the correct office. If in doubt then maybe try a few or all.
Not all offices have an automated reply to let you know that they have received your email in their inbox which is a bit frustrating.
I emailed on Sunday lunch time (13 days before travel) and received a reply Monday morning 8:30am saying they have received our upgrade request and noted the travel date is 28 May 2022.
From reading the 40 odd pages this thread has got to now, I am confident we will get the call to organise picking them up.
However for people that are not fortunate to be able to drive or afford the train upto 200 miles to get to the nearest office / not trust the Postal Service, and the fact it seems to be within 72/42 hours before one actually flies then that also is an added stress 🙁
Good luck everyone
PassThePortParticipantSame here!
Sent from post office 22nd March
Got a text on 30th March saying received.
Heard nothing since.
Filled out the tracker form to track paper applications about 4 times now but not a single reply.
Wish we did it online now to have more information
PassThePortParticipantHi folks, applied for two new child passports 23rd March using the Post Office check and send paper form.
Travel on the 28th May
Got no idea which office the applications are at so today (15 days before travel) I emailed my two nearest office upgrade teams requesting an upgrade.
Ive also just called and spoke to two nice people who were helpful and said I should now expect a call in a day or 2.
My question is, will I have to pay for this, if I have been waiting over 7 week already?\
The lady suggested it would be £60 per passport?I don’t think ive seen that mentioned on this forum yet?
