I called the offices end of August 2021 (I applied and sent old passport back on 21:08:2021) and was told that application processed means t(in my case – an adult renewal) means the old passport has been scanned into the system. That was 21 days ago now still nothing.

Once the application is in the system they will or cannot do anything until it goes beyond 10 weeks. Then you can bring some pressure to bear. I learned this from the passport office
