rjoParticipant
So mine is 6th April processing. If there’s any sort of system then ours should be processed within a day of each other’s. As you might’ve seen I found 2 success stories earlier on in the thread, one of which was exactly 7 weeks from processing, the other 7.5 weeks from processing. So ours SHOULD be updated by next week, I hope.
rjoParticipant@alenka2003 which office did you send to?
rjoParticipantAnother to add to the list which I missed the first time round:
“If anyone has time, it might be worth adding any success stories to a list to see if there is any discernible pattern emerging from each office. It would also be most consistent for the main indicator to be the date from PROCESSING.Peterborough office:
kc2000’s application was processing from 30th March and approved 18th May;This is exactly 7 weeks from processing to approved.”
Bb1212’s PETERBOROUGH application timeline:
First passport after naturalisation
Processing: 24/03/2020
Approved: 14/05/2020This is 7 1/2 weeks from processing to approved. Is there anyone who sent their application to PETERBOROUGH on a timeline where they have been waiting MORE THAN 7 1/2 weeks since PROCESSING?
rjoParticipantOkay. So clearly there’s no consistent system at Peterborough…

Peterborough office:

Mine (Peterborough) has been processing since 6th April; so, if consistent, 25th May will be 7 weeks from processing. If mine is approved/updated on Monday 25th or any point next week, then we have some indication of consistency from the Peterborough office. I will be sure to update as soon as I can.
Note: as we have established there to be no consistency between offices, if anyone would like to compile info/data on any other success story from any office, then feel free.
rjoParticipantAbove post was meant to say since changing to processing.
rjoParticipantI mistakenly said mine was sent to London. It was actually also Peterborough. Days since status changed to approved: 43, so we are on a similar timeline. But mine is to replace a damaged passport, so may not be being checked by the same department in the office.
rjoParticipantdan, which office did you send it to?
rjoParticipantNot sure which office and haven’t spoken to him since. I believe their system must be incredibly disorganised and inefficient.
Has anyone managed to get anything out of them regarding whether more staff will be returning to work?
rjoParticipantIt’s worth noting that a friend of mine applied on the 4th May for a standard renewal and he RECEIVED it the following Friday (8th May). There doesn’t really seem to be any discernible system so one person’s experience isn’t comparable to another’s.
rjoParticipantMine was sent to London. Processing since 6th April. They sent the email that they are still working with fewer staff, despite the PM’s announcement that those who cannot work from home should go to work. Does anyone else find it interesting to see that the PM is willing to allow construction workers etc. to risk their lives while those under their control (civil servants) are still practicing the same level of under-staffing as before the announcement?
rjoParticipantHas anyone had any response regarding whether staff numbers will now increase since the PM’s announcement? I’ve asked twice but they won’t answer. It would be an interesting position for them to take if they weren’t increasing numbers, despite PM’s announcement that anyone who can’t work from home should go to work. Are the government only interested in sacrificing people who don’t work for them (thereby protecting themselves)? Very curious, don’t you think?
